Ok, so let's start a brillant carreer as a CiV modder!
While I was trying to guess the last two civs of Brave New World, I found myself doing a lot of research about Native American Civs. As I really enjoyed this, I've started to consider going further and create my own Native American Civs. For the moment I have ideas for 4 civs, already posted on other threads: The Ojibwe, The Pueblo, The Caddo and The Sioux.
But more important: I've already done a lot of work for The Ojibwe! Ok so this is my very first civ and things are still in progress but it starts to look good.
Overall:
The Ojibwe
Also known as the Chippewa. The Ojibwe were the largest and most powerful Great Lakes tribe; perhaps the most powerful east of the Mississippi; and quite possibly the most powerful in North America."[/I]
Leader: Kechewaishke
Kechewaishke was one of the leader of the Ojibwe nation for nearly a half-century until his death in 1855. He resisted the efforts of the United States to remove the Chippewa.
Capital: Mooniyang (Montreal area)
In the Seven Fires Prophecy, Mooniyang is refered as the "First Stopping Place" of the Anishinaabe, the ancestors of the Ojibwe.
UA: Visions of the Turtle Island
Units can sail on coastal tiles and lakes from the start. Embarked units remain invisible for other civilizations unless they have a unit directly near yours.
Turtle Island designates the North American continent in the Anishinaabe mythology. This UA reflects the importance of birch bark canoes in the Ojibwe way of life.
UI: Maple Syrup Camp
Can be built on forest tiles.

Ogichidaa is the Ojibwe word for warrior and means the one who stands as a barrier between bad things and the people".

The civ icon is the first thing i've done with GIMP and needs some tweaking. The leader icon is ... difficult to do!

For my first custom civ, i'm trying to do everything by myself from the code (almost completed, but I don't think it's optimal) to the art (getting better every day), including importing a brand new unit (from Total war
). All your advice for improving my skills are welcome! (And of course what do you think of the overall civ
).
