Rallying Call: Eastern European/Turkish Battles Mod, during the Renaissance!

Nice idea for a Mod:goodjob:

Which is the starting date My proposal would be 1354
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottoma...kans#The_First_Stage_of_Conquest.2C_1354-1402

Good thinking, I think I made the start date as 1350, but not a bad idea.

This project is not dead, despite no new posts in this thread as of late. The civilizations are done, a majority of the tech tree is completed, and a good portion of the units and buildings are done as well.

Civics need work (which I contacted Aussie_Lurker about), and a few other core game mechanics need fleshing out.

Progress is slow, but it's still alive! :)

By the way: yes I did convert this mod to BTS compatibility (I realized my last post stated that it wasn't completed yet). It is converted and functional in its pre-alpha stage.

just to let you you know i'll help you however i can, whether it be mapmaking, art, music, xml, or a bit of coding

if you have anything you would like in specific, just send me a pm :)

Nice mod! I love this time period and area. Should make for a fun mod.

Kinda curious if you've implemented civ specific victory conditions yet. I need to do something similar, and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction.

No, I have not implemented them yet. I've been brainstorming them though. I feel it's more important to flesh out "the basics" (such as units, civics, buildings, etc.) before doing the advanced stuff such as civ-specific victories.

@ Kevin:
Thanks!

I hope this mod it's not dead? :(

Not yet it isn't. :)

But now I've got to update everything to 3.17 compatibility and still search for a partner in fleshing out the rest of the basics,

By the way, are you an authority on Polish history during the late Middle Age/Renaissance time period? It would be useful to have a consultant with such information ...

masybe authority not, but i could help - i have some books and maybe i'll find useful info for you :)

I'm glad to see central european mod :)

Please. UUs and UBs especially, and any other information you feel would be useful to flesh out a truly unique Polish civ (not partially unique with only 1 or 2 unique units/buildings).

I'd really like to see this get released at some point-even if you don't plan on working on it anymore, at least show us what you have and maybe someone will take it up (I would, but unfortunately I really don't have the programming knowledge for it).

If you have any questions on Ottoman history, just ask-I have couple of books on it and know of some more in my local library. (On a related note, are you planning on balancing the mod so you could play as the Ottomans? I'd probably enjoy that the most, as I'm fairly interested in their history.)

Shqype,

Don't give up.

True shqyptars never do.
Thanks a lot for the encouragement. :)

My problem isn't with the "programming" side of it, but instead the ideas side of it. I have a base down, but there are still some holes that need to be further fleshed out (like completing the tech tree, for instance). If you'd like to offer your help, I'd gladly take it.

Another forum member has recently come back and has offered to contribute his aid in continuing to develop this project; once he does that things can proceed smoothly. As I've recently come back to CIV4, my first goal is to update the TAM mod to an improved, polished version before continuing on my own project. Once that's done I can hopefully resume this. It is still something I am very much interested in, and something I really want released.

I am definitely adding the Ottomans in. They're one of the most relevant factions in the mod. They should have a relatively easy time compared to some of the other factions - I believe in making this project about historical accuracy, including factions of varying difficulty with their own victory conditions. Hopefully by next month this project can proceed.

Shqype, can you fix your pic of the tech tree? Then, I'll see if I can come up with any missing techs and email them to you
