Random Events FTW

Got one earlier. Build 7 triremes before making Ren era. Done it in 3 turns (I already had like 3) and now my harbors give +2:commerce:. Which helps me alot because all but like 3 cities are costal and Lizzy is running away in techs.

Finished "The Best Defense" quest today.
I played as Justinian I again, had the Great Wall, was the first to have Engineering on my continent and was fighting a war against the Monty and Pacal. I got the task to be the first to have seven Castles before Econimics, Rifling or Railroads.
Reward options

1.) Better training: Free City Garrison I for all melee units

2.) Turn defensive advantage into political capital: +3 relations with all leaders

3.) Now that we are safe focus on learning about enemy plans : +25 espionage points from The Great Wall.

I haven't yet decided between option one and three. City Garrison for melee is nice, especially with the free shock for my Pikemen from a former event but I have muskets now and melee units are soon going to be obsolete. I could build many Pikemen now and upgrade them to Riflemen later, but it's gonna be expensive.
Better relations are quite useless when you are a Confucianists and your only neighbours are jewish Aztecs and Maya.
I have the Great Wall in Constantinople together with two settled Great Spies and I plan to build Scotland Yard soon. I think this will help me most on the long term

When I got this one,I read the first bit of text and thought here comes another bad one, but then look at the options....mmmmh nice :)

What? That makes this a double bug - thw wrong description and you being able to complete the quest that way. You were supposed to obtain that ressource yourself - not trade for it. That's against the whole idea of the quest.

I encourage you to post an description of this in the Bug Reports Forum.
Unless he didn't notice that he already had all the resources. Happened to me, but I didn't get a completion notice until the next turn.
And that's 10 gold per turn, actually pretty nice.

Another cool event today.
Around 2000BC I was told that a champion has emerged from a tournament hold by my military commanders.
My first Warrior got a free leadership promotion. Of course I attached a Warlord as soon as possible.

I had a songwriter appear. Options were :-
(1) Thriving culture: 100 culture in city.
(2) Fund a play: -25 gold, 450 culture in city (probably needs Drama, which I had)
(3) Give a recording contract: -20 gold, 250 culture in all cities. Needed Radio, which I didn't have.
Having some spare gold, I chose (2). Scarcely an earth-shattering event.

Just finished a game where i got:

+1 hammer to forges
+1 food to grocers
+5 coins to public transportation (subway was founded)
+2 hammers to a tile (world leader in tin)
and the quest to spread my corp to a number of cities.
