Random ideas for government

How so?...

EDIT> found wiki article,

Hardware random number generators

First of all, you said, "computers can generate random numbers."

computer said:
A device that computes, especially a programmable electronic machine that performs high-speed mathematical or logical operations or that assembles, stores, correlates, or otherwise processes information.

By definition, a computer cannot generate a random number.

Secondly, from your wiki link:

Wiki said:
Hardware random number generators are often relatively slow, and they may produce a biased sequence (ie, some values are more common than others). Whether a hardware random number generator is suitable for a particular application depends on the details of both the application and the generator.

There are still problems with hardware solutions.

From reading the article, it seems that we can get random numbers using quantom mechanics though.

The Congress or Parliament should be created by lottery, not election.
I think that would be a good idea for a second house (or at least, part of it), when it comes to issues such as keeping the Government in control, and considering more "moral" issues such as what should be illegal, rather than things like the economy.

However, it's a really bad idea for a primary house. Your average person knows or cares little about managing an economy or politics and diplomacy.

As for generating random numbers, surely whatever problems there are with bias or speed must have already been solved for jury selection?

mdwh, I just think that the professional political class has let us all down. Lately I think being a Senator shouldnt be someones career. It should be a limited term of service to fulfill ones civic duty, like jury duty, or serving in the military during war time.
