Ranged Attacks

Hi,

I want to make my scouts a ranged unit - so far no problem. But how to animate them to shoot and not to run 2 hexes and attack and then running back - looks nice, but that's not what I have in mind. Same for the spearman - how to make javlin throwers?

Actually that sounds pretty cool for the scouts. Instead of a ranged attack call it an ambush attack, and then the graphic would be perfect. :lol:
 
Animations have to be created for the units. At the moment, I don't think this is possible.
 
you could probably change the WeaponTypeTag in UnitMemberArtInfos to there city assault type or to the weapon type that archers use and see what happens. I haven't tried this yet myself because i'm still deciding if I want to bother with art for my mod's. It seems to be a hell of a lot more work than the xml was/is.

UPDATE: I looked at the animations in nexus, go with the bombard animation it should work out fine.

Unfortunatly while I know what needs to be done I am sadly lacking in the knowldge of how to go about doing it. Hopefully someone else can help but his may be part of the brokenness that is nexus right now.
