Seriously, as someone who grew up in the 80s, and remembers the 70ss, I can only say the 90s were the least evil decade for music so far.
Several quality bands (RHCP, RATM, Nirvana, Beasty Boys) from various kinds of music really had a lot of success and airplay...you haven't had that before. With the possible exception of some early Stones/Mid-Beatles/Kinks.
Success and quality was mutually exclusive in the 80s and 70s.
In that decades, you could only revert to 60s or even older songs, Hardrock and Punk. EVERYTHING else sucked.

What are Green Day and Rancid other than the Clash minus all those chords?

Ok, admittedly the GD of 10 years ago were a nice band. But today?

When I heard the Pixies in that movie I thought "oh god! there goes another cool band." Now they're all over adverts, TV, films blah blah. I don't mind, they made great music. As for FC, good movie. Totally different reasons for me man :lol:
