when you post you have a "rank".... ie, it classes me as "chieftan" how does this ranking system work?

Also, out of interest, how to you post a poll? I am in no way new to civilization, but yes, completely new to CFC. I apologise if I have stepped on anyones toes here. Just figuring out how the whole thing works still!

Your "rank," or title, starts out as chieftain, and as you reach certain postcount milestones your title goes up. Here's the titles and required number of posts:

Chieftain (Minimum Posts: 0)
Warlord (Minimum Posts: 100)
Prince (Minimum Posts: 300)
King (Minimum Posts: 600)
Emperor (Minimum Posts: 1000)
Deity (Minimum Posts: 1500)

Once you reach 30 posts, you can also give yourself a custom title.

About polls, when posting a thread, if you want to also post a poll, check the box saying "Yes! Post a poll!" (or something like that) in the thread creation screen and specify the number of options you want. (Don't worry, you can change the number of options as you make the poll.) Then click the submit thread button to create the poll, and from there on it's pretty self-explanatory, except for making the poll multiple choice: to do that, check the box in the poll creation screen saying "allow multiple options" (or something like that).

It's based on the Civ2 game levels.

As has been said, they are civ 2 or civ 1 titles. prince and king are regent and monarch in civ 3.

EDIT: You also get the "Goodbye Steve!" rank at postcount 3000, and when steve waugh has just retired

Well, there is only two people technically to reach 10,000 posts. Shaitan and Curt Sibling.

No really and truly shaitan was the first person to get over 10,000 posts on CFC, but because RPG posts did not count, his "counter" only listed several thousand. (Just like I really have 4,000 something posts on CFC.)

Back when the Demogame RPG was mostly spam, Thunderfall turned off the post counts. 1/2 of the posts were update posts with a bunch of numbers.

yes, and since we didn't get "updated" to civ 3 ranks, there is no precedent to "update" to conquests ranks
