Rat-32 3BC AW as Persia

Preturn: I would have landed the army first, the stack could be attacked fairly heavily on a new continent.

IBT: Sure enough we lose around 6 units to attacking cavalry and Crusaders.

1430 AD: Land army

IBT: No attacks because we now have the army.

1435 AD: We get a leader taking Bangalore so we keep to build the Army then we abandon it.

1445 AD: Capture Madras, I am going to try keeping it and seeing the damage.

1450 AD: Attack Valencia

1455 AD: Attack and keep Valencia. Lets see if we go over.

We do:

We won one turn away from industrial.

quick finish for a game that started all but well. despite the lack of iron and water we managed a win. having a continent version of pangea sure helped a lot. also nice of hannibal to let us beat up the aztecs without much interference.

tried to reinstall civ from image files, but got some weird error messages playing it. seems i have to do without civ until spring-cleaning.

Wow, that ended quick :D

It seems that 1BC is too hard and 3BC is too easy, how about 2BC

Anyway, congrats.

this ended faster than thought once we got iron and immortal armies. However, IIRC this was meant to be a pangaea game. Are people here still interested to play a true 3BC pangaea AW game?

I'm in. Do we want a vetted map, where a non-team party can determine if it is a true Pangaea? Who do we play as?

If you do, I volunteer, let me know the settings you want. I enjoy watching these sort of games (more than playing them, I think).

thanks DWetzel

We would like a emperor pangaea/no barbs game for sure. The question is which civ we would like. As we don't rely on fast growth, we can chose a good military Civ.
The mil Civs are:
- Rome
- Germany (+sci)
- China
- Mongols
- Vikings
- Zulu

Looking at this list, China, Mongols or Germany seem a nice choice, with China not played for a long time.

I'd vote for Rome or the Vikes. I've played Germany, China, and the Mongols recently enough that I'd rather play a different civ in the next SG. Besides, Germany probably won't get a GA in this type of AW game.

The Vikings make an Archer-rush a lot more interesting...

Vikes are good but its a looong wait for those pricey 'Zerks. I have just recently finished a Viking SG, they are a good war tribe, but other than guaranteeing a coastal start, Seafaring is a weak trait for AW. I'd vote Rome right now, with the Zulu next just from a freshness aspect.

Now we have a tie it seems. Either Rome or Vikings. I haven't played the Vikings for a long time.

Greebley, what do you think? You vote will sort of decide the outcome...

ok, let it be the Vikings then:

DWetzel, we need the following map:

Vikings on Emperor
standard 70% pangaea map
no barbs, seed enabled, all victory conditions except the wonder victory, cultural conversions fine, SGL on

Once you have a map for us, i will start a new thread
Thanks so much

I bestow upon you this offering. I officially deem it playable (good luck though, hehehehehe! :p)
