RawSasquatch/Kramer's New Civilizations

What? Who is sherlock?
Anyway, I'm confused. What is the next(non far cry civ :p) civ?

So, expect Texas's long-awaited update sometime this week! Here's a little preview of the updated colors/icons:

On that note, here's a little something I want opinions on: I've been contemplating changing "Sam Houston"'s in-game name to "Houston", to fit with the naming scheme of Washington and other vanilla leaders. Vote in this strawpoll if you've got a preference!

Sam Houston is fine as is. There are several other mods that use first & last names (Henry Parkes to name one) and there are some Vanilla civs that use that naming convention as well.

Enrico Dandolo, Ahmad Al-mansur, Gustavus Adolphus :)

Pedro's just called by his first name. I mean, can you imagine if his full name was in the game?

Hmmm.. What's that unit near the Texan warrior? Caesar's legion?

Caesar's Legion isn't a literal legion.

Indeed, those are Praetorian Guards, one of Caesar's Legion's UUs. I decided that the Roman Longswordsman worked well enough as a unit graphic, so there we go. Only 3 more custom units to acquire and then Fallout Civs Pack 1 has all its 3D work done.

Eh, expected them to be using gunpowder weaponry. Guess that's not what happened.

Well, in Fallout: New Vegas, the Praetorian Guards actually use Ballistic Fists (tl;dr: a glove with a punch-triggered SHOTGUN on it) and fight exclusively with hand-to-hand combat. But, there are certainly no existing units for Civ 5 that use such animations, so I fell back to bladed weapons. This is also what the wiki says about the Praetorians' weaponry:
Personifying Caesar's martial philosophy, the Praetorians fight using only unarmed combat. Lucius explains that weapons or firearms may break or jam, but a true warrior can always rely on his innate skills. Regardless, Praetorians still wear ballistic fists to give their punches devastating impact beyond what a normal human blow can inflict.

Additionally, both of the Legion's UUs receive extra combat strength with certain military technologies, but start to lag behind strength-wise the further along you get, for the sake of game balance and proper representation of the Legion's melee-oriented attitude.

I confused with someone else in Ceasar's Legion, my Fallout memory is quite rusty.

Hello,

I'm in the middle of a game as California and it doesn't seem like the Great Films are providing the happiness they are supposed to. Has anyone else experienced this?

Oh jeez, I said I was going to update it before I went on vacation, but then ran out of time before leaving, and then forgot to do it when I got back.

Tell you guys what, here's a manual download for Texas v3. I've been having some slightly weird issues with the E&D support not properly displaying the alpha icon, so if anyone wants to check that out on their end, I'll try to get it updated sometime tomorrow.

Meanwhile elsewhere, a shocking, unexpected development!

Who on earth could this be? What's so special about them? Where did they come from, and what could their arrival signify? These questions and more, answered next time! Same Civ-place, same Civ-channel!

Wow and thinking 1960's Overly Obnoxious TV Show References would get in the way of this experience, and I'm putting my money on it either Linclon of Chief Seattle!! :whew:
