Hey all,

Was getting into Civ 7 but also really wanted a Cheat Panel similar to the existing mods for Civ 5 and 6 to mess around with in the game (and definitely not to salvage my failing save).

Cheat Panel.jpg

Here's the Panel with the following features:
  1. Give 1000 Gold
  2. Give 1000 Influence
  3. Restore (selected) Unit Movement
    1. Make sure the unit is selected on the map
  4. Heal (selected) unit
  5. Give Experience
    1. Best used with commanders
    2. Although you can give it to regular units it does nothing
  6. Complete Selected city production
    1. I've noticed that you need to open the panel first then select the city otherwise the button to open the panel will disappear
  7. Complete Researching Tech
  8. Complete Current Civic
  9. Hotkey support using F8 to open and close the panel.
Opening the Mod:
  1. Press F8
  2. Click on the 2nd religion Icon:

You can open the Cheat Panel using the button to the right of the religion icon. It uses the same icon but I'll fix that later. I tried starting a new save and noticed these buttons aren't available straight away so you might have to play through the game a bit.

The mod is lightly tested and I haven't tested it with other mods but I haven't replaced any main files.

Known Issues
  1. Icon uses the same icon as the religion one
  2. The panel disappears when you move a unit around Fixed in v0.0.3
  3. It's not available at the start of the new game

I'm getting the mod uploaded to the resources section and will update it here

v0.0.2 - Hotkey Support

Implement Hotkey support. Press F8 to show the cheat panel. This can be changed in input.xml

Thanks for the suggestion @angelodgreat

wait, gameplay functions are exposed to UI context ?

that's surprising, knowing there is a tuner context and they load other gameplay context (mapscript, age transition)

but also means gameplay changes are already possible, good to know (I'm not sure if it's intended, or if it will stay that way)

Hello! is it possible to add keybinds to the options? preferably the unit movement reset. I think there is a mod here that alloy use of keybinds.

Yes it's totally possible and was something I was thinking of doing down the line. I did see the library mod for UI editing of keybinds and I'll try to incorporate it at some point!

I really love this mod. Sometimes I like to cheat and mess with the AIs... nukes are hilarious especially after a bad day at work.

Not sure if it's your MOD or not but when I want to upgrade my armies, I have to click my commander, click the unit, hit upgrade (panel then closes immediately), rinse and repeat. So annoying. Reason I say that it might be your MOD is because without it enabled, the army panel stays open after hitting upgrade. I know that upgrading units' costs money and your MOD doesn't provide a free option. But it would be awesome if you could add an "Upgrade whole army button" to eliminate the multiple clicks.

Also, when you reset a unit's movement... oomph. This is a bit tricky when you want to do it multiple times. If you set a unit's destination that takes more than one turn, you have to click the cancel button first before resetting the unit's movement. Then you sometimes have to double click to get it going again. This takes multiple clicks of deselecting a unit, reselecting it, opening the cheat menu and resetting the unit's movement. I love using this feature to get my armies organized and in position or getting my Explorers to their dig sites before the AI. :D

Just wondering, i have added the mod, but when i hit F8 it doesn't seem to open the menu, is there something i'm missing. do i need to enable the F8 key to work in the settings

its working fine on me. While I am not an expert, I suspect that it messes with another mod. Did you try to run only this mod? If it works then start enabling other mods one by one in order to find which one causing this

i hadn't started that, that was going to be what i try next

I totally understand what you mean with the unit movement I was struggling a little with that before. I was looking to just adding movement over the movement limit to make it easier. I'll see what I can find.

Thanks for the report of upgrade issue I'll see if I can reproduce it

I've been working on another new option to heal cities in the meanwhile.

Having to reselect the commander after upgrading a unit is a game problem. It was one of the first things I pointed out in the Steam section on game suggestions. Hopefully they saw it, because it is a pain in the... Especially when you have a bunch of commanders.

It's not this mod, I'm not using it and I still have it. Probably a base game issue.
