[0] January 1807 - Familiarization.
(IBT) - Go 2 for 1 versus Prussian cav, with one of ours promoting. Bunch of Prussians get dropped off near Konigsberg.
[1] March 1807 - Move back the wounded, move up some fresh troops, and pretty much regroup.
(IBT) - Prussians do a lot of counterattacking. At Konigsberg it goes not so well - we lose some hussars, they lose relatively little. On the main front, a pair of brave Grenzers holds off 5-6 cav before finally dying.
Ottos sign up with France vs. Britain and Prussia.
Naples declares on the Ottos. The Ottos are presumably very much afraid of the might of Naples' OCC. Portugul declares on said Ottos, as well.

Jan-1808 I believe we will not be able to keep France from Hamberg so I will press on Stettin and Posen. I kill 2 Fusiliers in Posen and streatch but lose two Grenzers and a Hussar also. I was short 3 hp. I kill 6 Fusiliers in Konigsberg and lose one Hussar. Only 1 hp to go but only have a 1hp Hussar left.
IBT Sweden has joined a trade embargo with Naples against us. Trade horses with the Prussians but they get a leader. Lose our wines and dyes. We have wines from the Prussian land and pas on the dyes from Otto. Berlin loses a resistor and riots. Lepzig, Salzburg and Sibiu liked the dyes.
Mar-1808 Leipzig Grenzer-->Grand Battery Vienna,Budapest,Salzburg Hussar-->Hussar Cracow GB-->GB Kill 3 more Gusiliers in Konigsberg. Our Hussar's fail to do the job at Posen losing 1 and retreating 3 more. The Army arrives to kill two Fusiliers. I find another Hussar in range and he leaves only the 2 1hp defenders left. I send in the Grenzers to take Posen with Barracks, Granary Courthouse and 3g. I start a worker. Kill two Cuirassiers and von Blucher outside of Stettin. It appears we needed those Dyes so I buy them for 530g. Move troops to block road to Stettin from the French. Rush Hussar in Prague for 152g.

Move Army and another Hussar to Hamberg to watch that battle. Rush Hussar in Prague for 304g and in Venice for 324g. Complete GB in Lvov for 108g, Warsaw for 128g and Leipzig for 72g.

Nov-1808 Cracow GB-->GB Konigsberg now has a Musketman on top. After a fine display of artillery, our Hussars clean up any remaining troops without a loss taking the city with 21g, 4 resisters, Granary, Marketplace, Courthouse, Aqueduct and Bank.
We are blocking the East/West roads north of Stettin to keep the French back.
I have started sending troops to Tarnopol for the second arm to attack Russia. Yes, Russia. Call me what you want, but I do not want a piece of France yet. We sould have the troops to form 3 battle groups. One can back up and take Denmark (with a French RoP and an Alliance after we fill the choke to Copenhagen. The Second will stride East from Konigsberg for Vilnius and Minsk. The Third will leave from Tarnopol for Keiv then south for the ultimate goal of Sevastopol. We have another year to decide anyway(5 game turns). Oblivian has the honor of removing the Prussians from the map and setting up Bede for our next Victim.

We are set to invade Russia north and south. There is one bank left to finish then we can mobilize the economy and declare on Russia. They have units inour territory in the south so a demand to dpart should result in a declaration.

There are two Cossacks and an Imperial Guard on the NW border and and four infantry on the SE border.
Put the economy on a war footing.
Pull the troops back from the borders into the border cities.
Spain and Sweden sign a Peace Treaty.

Pulling workers back from the borders. The French, allied with the Russians against the Ottomans have a lot of units near Venice and Salzburg, Imperial Cavlary in the vanguard and nineteen Imperail Guards in the Mountains above Venice.
I cancel all our per turn payment deals with the Ottomans to give the nextplayer the maximum flexibility. They still owe us dyes for something but we owe nothing in return.
Rather than facing the Russians and the French I wonder if we could ally with the French against the Ottomans and then declare on the Russians. If we pay the French something for the deal against the Ottomans then the Russians probably could not buy the French against us. There are fewer Ottomans in our territory than Frenchmen right now. Or we could join the French and Russians against the Ottomans and race them to the Ottoman capitol. Then when the Turk is gone declare on the Russians....
We have 6 years left to gain a whole bunch of victory points so buying our way into the Ottoman war then attacking the Russians may be the way to go.
The attacking forces on the Russian border are poised to strike at Vilnius on turn 0.

It does not look like France will turn on Russia for all we can bribe them with. It will take 3 turns to get our armies and the Hussars from the southern force to the hill overlooking Bucharest.
We are only down 3000VP to France now. We need to drive down the Bucharest-Varna-Istanbul highway as fast as we can. Leave Chisinau, Odessa and Sulina for the Russians. Use the Greners in Venice to fortify Zagreb and slow the French down by filling the roads.

I took a prelimnary look at the save, and France won't go for Russia even for all our money - 319 gpt and 55 gold. So, it is obviously the Ottomans that we need to target. Hopefully we can get there before the French.
The Ottomans have some big cities, some around size 16. That is a lot of VPs.

Sorry 'bout these turns. I was taking them slowly at first, then 2 days ago my hard drive failed. This is the first chance i have had to post here, from another computer which is not civworthy. I will hopefully be back in a few days. Obviously i have to reinstall windows, civ, e-mail and other things. Thats once i have a new hard drive. My turns are clearly lost and i regretfully have to ask for a skip.

[0] Jan 1810 - Well, this is fun. On the one hand, we can attack Russia if we want, and so long as France doesn't backstab us, we're good. On the other hand, we could join up on the Ottos, and even do so without ruining our rep, if only we didn't have a 9 turn dyes deal with said Ottos. Normally, this wouldn't be the end of the world, and we could, say, go invade Sweden, but of course they're paying us money for 17 turns.
Every instinct I have says that going for the Ottos is the better deal for us in the end, but breaking the deal is...ungood, last I checked. Nevertheless, I see nothing good for us in Russia. So I'll get our troops down to Ottoland, and do things that way.
With that in mind, I begin deploying along 6GT's plan. Zagreb is fortified with Venetian troops, and we'll see what we can do about road blocking RSN. Too, everyone else moves out of position and down the road, along with some random troops sitting around in various places. Hopefully we'll be ready by the end of my turns.

Cav is all in position to strike. Do we go without the arty support? The armies at least can reach Belgrade this turn, with the rest of our ~20 Hussars next turn. So, we conduct a little investigation of the city, and...3 Jannisaries, a musket, and 3 batteries. We'll go for it, deal or no deal.
Dial up Selim, and yell at him to remove his forces or declare war enough times so that he actually declares.

(IBT) - And, you know. When your city is under seige, and you've barely got any troops there, the smart thing to do is pull your best guy out of the city to attack a hussar in the open, and die.

Incidentally, we're fighting this random little war in the SE with that little army group down there. Few Grenzers, some GBs, couple Hussars. Lots of assorted Otto zotting.
But you really want to hear about Belgrade, so:

(IBT) - Britain and the Ottos embargo against us. And I dunno where the Russians are, but our SE forces aren't strong enough to be fighting all the Ottos in the world like they're doing.

Cash rush the army building in Vienna because I can.
And we start marching on Orsovo.
On the one hand, the first army takes -10 HP while killing the Janissary defender there. On the other hand, they're very suddenly out of Jannisaries. The next army goes up against a vet Sekhan, drops it to 1 hp without taking a scratch, then proceeds to lose five straight rounds of combat with it before killing it. The next round does pretty much the same thing. WTH.
And another Vet Sekhan showing. A couple more vets retreat against it, then another kills it, and Orsovo is ours!
And then I move up some more troops, and there's the turn.
So far, so good in the South and West. We've blocked off the French fairly well, and we're making gains on the Ottos. As a quick note, we have a rax in Belgrade, but not in Orsovo, so I'm sending the armies back to Belgrade to heal. Also, the main force of arty and
In the East, it's shaky. While we have way more troops than we really need in the South, we have almost none in the East - 2 Grenzers, 4 GBs, and a Hussar are currently holding off the Otto field armies. So I've been sending any newly produced Hussars over there to help out. It might be worth forming another Hussar army out of the new army, and sending it over there to help.
Meanwhile, here is a very large map of the current situation.
The magenta line in the west is our worker hordes holding off some slightly more threatening hordes of French military units. They're starting to trickle a few around the top, but nothing major as of yet.
The light blue circles in the south are our armies. The dark blue circle is all of our unattached Hussars - 17 of them. There are also a few more in each city, plus some Grenzers. The purple circle is our arty support, to the tune of 23 GBs and a couple Grenzers. The red circle in the east is our little force holding off the Ottos - 2 Grenzers, 4 GBs versus 2 wounded Jans and 2 wounded Sekhans, with another Sek and Jan nearby. Haven't seen the Russians do much in a while.
Thinking over battle plans, I think what we might want to do is just keep the armies running down through Bucharest and Varna, backed by a few Hussars. Maybe send the new army down there to get filled with Hussars, and in any case, cash rush another army in a couple of turns and send it down there.
Meanwhile, the support troops and most of those hussars can go deal with Otto Greece. At the very least, deal with Sofia and meet up for the seige of Istanbul.
As to the East, either send the new army over there, run most of our new production troops over there, or both. Eventually, we'll want to start taking those Otto cities - I'm pretty sure the Russians aren't in any position to do anything about it, so if we're quick about it, we can probably snag some or all of them.
In any case, we are now at 19390 VPs versus France's 19730 VPs. We have exactly 30 turns left in the scenario.

Every instinct I have says that going for the Ottos is the better deal for us in the end, but breaking the deal is...ungood, last I checked. Nevertheless, I see nothing good for us in Russia. So I'll get our troops down to Ottoland, and do things that way.
With that in mind, I begin deploying along 6GT's plan. Zagreb is fortified with Venetian troops, and we'll see what we can do about road blocking RSN. Too, everyone else moves out of position and down the road, along with some random troops sitting around in various places. Hopefully we'll be ready by the end of my turns.

Lots of troops moved, and the roads are blocked off from the French about as well as I can block them off.
Our mobile forces will be in position in two turns, and the cannons and Grenzers by the end of my turns.

The blockade now stretches from Venice to Cav is in position. Support units are a ways behind. Can we go next turn? We'll see.

Cav is all in position to strike. Do we go without the arty support? The armies at least can reach Belgrade this turn, with the rest of our ~20 Hussars next turn. So, we conduct a little investigation of the city, and...3 Jannisaries, a musket, and 3 batteries. We'll go for it, deal or no deal.
Dial up Selim, and yell at him to remove his forces or declare war enough times so that he actually declares.

(IBT) - And, you know. When your city is under seige, and you've barely got any troops there, the smart thing to do is pull your best guy out of the city to attack a hussar in the open, and die.

Three armies between Bucharest and Varna need to heal (-12hp,-8hp,-7hp). The bulk of our GB are over here in and about Varna.
The troops in and around Chisinau should head to Sulina next. The Russians moved a lot of troops to the fog next to Odessa. It may fall to them IBT.
I have another army with 5 Hussars and 3GB north of Sofia. They can take the town on the way to Istanbul or pick it up on the return trip.
