haha way to post exactly the same time as me Kod

I Hate You-Shut Up!

I Hate that we have only 2 scouts, 3 warrior, and one archer! I Hate Barbarians!

T1-Pottery in CoL ordered up! If there is anything that makes me angry it is not be Confucian! Shut Up! I hate these guys!

T2- I hate not understanding why there are these blue circles when I want to move the scout.

T3- I HATE BISMARCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

T5- I HATE that there are barbs coming from the South, Germans from the north, that I have no units, and that I have settler with no escort!!!! Shut Up!!!!!!!!!!!

T7- Settler+Chariot really HATE for others to have gems!

T8- It appears that we are not the only people that really like to HATE. Hannibal is a hater too!

Okay, so I Hate planting a city in an exposed spot (ie. not right between the the two civs we are at war with) when I am warring with 2 civs and would really like to be warring with FDR too  aarggghhh I HATE them all. So I do what I really HATE and reroute settler to capital and chariot to do some hating on those Archers.

T9-Chariot Hates the first Archer to death, but IBT second archers returns the HATE! :arg:

T10- Carthaginian Axe incoming- I HATE our NEIGHBORS!!!!

2 spots that I hate a lot less than that gems spot that I really hated!!!

In the north

In the south

I don't know why, but am really unhappy with this turn set. What can you do? They can't all be success stories.

Hello all, I see we finally decided to start this game, and did so when I had just moved for a temporary job thing that makes me without easy internet access. I still have the ability to play my turnsets however, it just will involve a few CD burns of the save file. One thing that would be helpful to me if I am to jump in here and start playing would be a Sulla-esque mention of the roster order at the end of each player's updated post, so I can see exactly when I'll be needing to play again.

In addition, while the humor is certainly present in there posts, I can't help but feel we're not really communicating any sort of overall plan here. Is that just because there are early turns? I only make mention of this because as a weaker player, I was sort of looking forward to the strategy discussions of the rest of the group to help me plan out my turn-set.

Updated Roster:
1 Blake
2 Swiss Pauli
3 Kodii
4 Atlas
5 Iainuki
6 sunrise089
Reserve:
Ruff Hi

I think I have about this right, based on who's posted what. SHUT UP I HATE YOU!

@sunrise089 - welcome aboard! Plan? Erm, to have some fun and bash some heads. I'm sure we'll get round to fleshing things out, but it looks like military will be to the fore for some time.
@everyone - can we agree to keep ANGER in caps and strategy discussion in lowercase? I HATE CONFUSION.

War with Hannibal. WE NEED TO FOCUS OUR ANGER; IF WE DO THIS WE CAN ACHIEVE GREAT VICTORY LIKE THIS BARB:

@Sunrise- I think the plan at the moment is to prevent our cities from being taken and tiles from being pillaged (will have a barb problem in the south). We probably need to switch research to Bronze Working so we can whip, but then we need to finish CoL. Then straight to Construction and deliver some Hwacha hell to Bismarck and then that nasty bugger Hannibal. Consolidate for about 20-30 turns and start hating on FDR. That should get us to about to the Renaissance era. We will start planning a victory more or less then, but somehow i think diplo is going to be out :mischief:.

Lurker's question: What level is this?
Thanks in advance ;)
What level? That is a tricky question when talking about the Better AI. The game was set at Monarch. I think the Better AI probably makes it play more like Emperor+. However we started the game at war with the first civ we met, so that increases the difficulty too.

Briefly, here: does the team have feelings about what I should be accomplishing next?

Well, everyone should take a look at the save, but I would play defensively here. If either Bismarck or Hannibal start sending Spearmen we will take huge losses. Possibly switch research to BW?

I *HATE* melee units.

This is a tricky situation - no doubt about that.

I would recommend upgrading the Archer to a Longbow and sending it north to either engage units or to secure a city site.

We definitely want to plant a couple of forward cities defended by longbows, to take the heat off our core cities. These cities should be on hills, but it may be acceptable to found the rice/gems city on the river (after all we have pro longbows)

Something about city placement - the suggested site "nasty bism" should be on the next grassland hill up (the non-forested one) - which is not on the river, but you'll note it's a FAR more defensible position, anything trying to get past will vulnerable on that plains tile between the city and mountain range. In contrast the hill on the river is very easy to get past - a unit can pass by it on the far side of the river, gaining both the river defense bonus too

Switch to Vassalage at first opportunity, preferably before completing the chariots. Also move a warrior out of the city and onto that forest plain hill so the Archer can't get up there.

I'm not immediately sure what the best thing to do with that settler would be - I think I'd have to go with settling either the horse plains hill or the marble/oasis plains hill - the marble is probably better - it has a free connection and can steal the cows until it has a border pop. I think I would found our 3rd city there.

I was hoping for more guidance, but I'm playing now. I'll aim to beat off Hannibal's offensive, and maybe retaliate; I don't know if I'll have time. I'll play 15 turns unless I hear otherwise.
