I was going to go with India, but I considered the fact that by far the best game I ever played was with Greece. Btw, I'm not really that great of a civ player, and I've never played a PBEM before.

doesnt matter, MP is really different to AI civs, also PBEM's tend to go quite slowly so you shouldnt be worried about time.
