I was trying to ge the most science that I could, but an AI had beaten me to Newtons College. By the time I finished attacking his city, it only had a size of 2. So I thought, why not disband the city (build two settlers) and rebuild it in my city with Cops Observatory. Once the city was disbanded the wonder could not be rebuilt.

Ok I know that we can't rebuild the gardens or colossus in the real world, but we can rebuild others. (Apollo or Eiffel Tower if we wanted to)

So why cant we rebuild wonders?

:confused: :: :egypt: :confused:

There must be some switch in the game that permanently shuts off when a wonder is completed so that no one else can build it. Destroying the city that the wonder is built in does not reset the switch, apparently.

Am I right, Duke?

The apollo program doesn't matter, it only has one time effects. It gives you the whole map once and you can still build the spaceship with the program destroyed. If Isaac's college is destroyed it would be rebuilt as a normal college with his name, it wouldn't be the same? Manhattan is also a wonder with effects only once.
What's the difference between rebuilding the colossus and the eiffeltower? We know both bronze working and how to make iron.

It would be more unrealistic that abandoning a good city is better for your civ, than keeping it.:)

One of the basic rules of CIV - no rebuilding of Wonders in destroyed or disbanded cities.

This is why getting the science wonders in your max-trade SSC is so critical. You should be tech-beelining to Astronomy & TheoryGravity, with caravans already prepared. The AI builds these things for show, in lousy cities that aren't worth taking. It's more to deny it to us (what use is Eiffel effects to AI?) that to exploit for itself.
