Hi
If the computer take very long time "computing" the AI turns, how could I reduce this waiting?

Is it more memory or more cpu power?

when it's my turn, everything's fine. I tend to play small/standard map with a lot of AIs for more war-action

pc specs:
Core 2 Duo E4500 2MB 2x2,20GHz
4 GB DDR2-800 PC6400 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 1 GB
win 7 64bit
DX10

cheers

I think it's our processors, I have a similar speed one and even overclocked, it takes time, especially with a lot of units (i.e. war-action).

Incidentally, in English you should separate decimals with a dot, not a comma, so write 2x2.2Ghz. It took me a minute to realise you weren't saying you had 2 processors, each with 2 cores running at 20Ghz ... which should be sufficient!! (I don't mean to be a grammar Nazi, while I dislike lazy spelling/grammar, when English isn't your first language then that's fair enough - I just want to help.)

I also imagined it could be the processor because I read in another thread that the AI compute the actions sequentially and only utilizing one core with out respect as to how many cores you might have totally

maybe I should go into overclocking to get some more power out of my system.

off topic: but I dont think I'll get it up to 2 x 2 x 20Ghz ;-)

1 processor with 2 cores running each at 2.2Ghz

Your CPU should be able to reach about 3GHz with normal voltages and aircooling, should give a nice boost. But ultimately nothing can be done about the slow turns but play on smaller maps with less AIs.
People with i7s and high-end X4s complain about slow turns, too :D

My Quad amd 965 doesn't seem to take long on turns. Sure longer then civ 4 but even civ 4 had long turns when it first came out.. Extremely long turns...

My one has the exact quote AFAIK, yours is worded slightly differently. Mine also had a grammar error, I'm so ashamed! :O

It was fine at first, but the turn times have become irritating after 200 turns and now I just minimize in windowed mode with every end turn. Not playing huge maps anymore!

((Phenom II 3.0ghz quad))

I have an end-game machine, and I wait around 50seconds per turn, gets longer and longer as the game progress and the empires start to get a decent size.

I wouldn't mind if there seemed to be any reason. The AI is very poor at present so if it's spending ages determining strategies and tactics then wow, that's some bad code. I've noticed when setting a move order, it's not instant in showing the route, especially over a couple of dozen tiles. Why not? There's no way route calculation in a tile based game should take an even noticeable amount of time. Perhaps the between-turn delay is the pathfinding for all the AIs' unit moves...
