Regarding patch

First of all, I bought the disc version and I bought a total of 3 DVDs. There are a few questions I would like to ask
Below is a list of information which might be helpful;
Beyond the sword : Civ version 313
Save version 301
Buid version 3.0.0.1 (81539)
Build Date: Sat Oct 24 12:01:30 2015

Warlords: Civ version 213
Save version 200
Buid version 2.1.3.0
Build Date: Thu May 17 07:23:38 2007

First, I cannot start the Vanilla version of Civilization IV,
It says, Cannot locate the DVD-ROM
Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application

But I do have the dics in the DVD-ROM, please tell me what to do?

When I check for updates for the Vanilla version and the Warlords version,
it says there are no updates available, but when I download mods for the most recent patched version, I cannot use those mods

And I tried the manual downloads for the vanilla and BTS version
And when I tried the patch, it told me that I did not have the game installed.

However, when I tried BTS patch 3.19. It led me to the install page, and then it just disappear without telling me anything. This is the only patch version which did not tell me that I do not have the game installed
And I do installed the game without changing anything, like to a different drive, I chose the default drive and location.

Please help me solve my problem as I really wish to try the MODS for BTS.

I am using Vista
I tried removing all the program and restarted as suggested
I even tried installing as admin and tried to patch as admin, but it is all futile
I even tried letting it installed into the default pathway.
When I installed the vanilla version, it is already patched to 1.61.
and when I tried to patch to 1.74, it says it did not detect any Civ 4 installed?
At a loss as what how to solve these problems, as I really wished to try some of the Mods only available in BTS 3.19....

I am slightly confused: you did manage to install BtS, correct?

I tried everything all over again
First, I installed vanilla version of Civ 4
I saw the readme of Civ 4 and noted that it is patch to 1.61
However, when I tried to patch it to 1.74, it told me that it did not detect any Civ 4 game installed.
I thought never mind, since if I installed BTS, it will patch Civ 4 to 1.74
Now after installing BTS, I encountered 2 problems
Problem 1:
I can't load Vanilla version of Civ 4 now.
It says: Cannot locate the DVD-ROM
Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application

Problem 2:
My version of BTS is 3.13.
I have downloaded 3.17 and 3.19
I tried patching as admininstrator for 3.17, but it says it did not detect any Civ 4 BTS game installed
And when I tried patch 3.19, it goes to a screen where it ask me if I want to register the game, and then the installation screen just disappeared..
I am really at a loss as how what I should do.
Please help me as to how I can solve my problem.

the fact that after installing Civ4 it won't patch it is a problem - lets start with that.
Civ4 is a CD/DVD version, correct?
where did you download the patch from?
did you install the game with admin rights?

Thank you ori for the concern.
I mange to solve my problems... but in an unorthodox way
I contact my retailer... and because the game I bought is in chinese version.
Although I can play in English mode, but I can't patch at all.
They don't support the download patch.
And to think I am giving support by buying Original games
This is what happen if you live in Taiwan....
Anyway, I solved everything. And I have patch BTS to 3.19 and I am now finally able to play fall from heaven 2... It is a real good game.....
