So, a couple of years ago, I started to play Civilization III with all of the enemies. Didn’t go too bad. But, a couple weeks ago, I got Civilization III Complete, so there is 31 civs, not 16, so this might not go so well. Anyway, bear with me.

Playing a 180x180 earth map. Normal Aggression, Warlord difficulty.

4000 BC- I start in Australia.. It looks good, so the city of Carthage was founded. Work begins on a barracks.

The mages need guidance, so they start research on Bronze Working, so I can build Numidians.

3500- Because of high culture, the borders of Carthage expand.
Cultureexpands.jpg

3400- Barracks completed work begins on a warrior to take out the nearby village.
3000- Settler completed, Carthage begins work on The Pyramids.
2900- Utica founded on southern coast. Work begins on barracks.
UticaFounded.jpg

2800- The mages finish Bronze Working and start on Warrior Code.
2350- While exploring to the north, the 1st Warrior finds one like him. As it turns out, they are called the French, and their leader, Joan d’Arc is a friendless loser.
MeetFrance.jpg

2190- The scientists come to Hannibal, and tell them they have a code for the upcoming warriors. He says great, now learn to write.
1675- While exploring the Great Ocean, the crew of the RCN-Carthage saw a spectacular sight. The volcano off to the shore was erupting! They watched in amazement as the nearby animal of all kinds ran for their lives. Afterwards, Captain Hamilcar wrote in his journal, “Never have I seen such a sight.”
Volcano.jpg

1325- Now able to write, the people of Carthage start to make vessels to hold food and drink.
With that, the people send diplomats to Paris and set up and embassy.
ParisianEmbassy.jpg

1225- The Incan city of Cuzco completes the Oracle.
CuzcoOracle.jpg

1150- The Scientists complete their task of becoming potters, and begin to chart the world, by making maps.

lurker's comment: Interesting choice, starting the Pyramids so early. They don't help you so much if you don't have many cities. :p Building settlers and workers should be a priority. Not wonders. Let the AI build them for you so you can capture them. The barracks in both cities isn't all that great either since you aren't building combat units in them.

I always build wonders. Its just what I do.:dunno:

Also, I'm going to do a small thing later, so the first person to translate the title will get to pick from one of the civs below:
a) Vikings :viking:
b) Spanish
c) Ottomans
d) Koreans
One guess per person.

New Carthaginian Kingdom/New Kingdom of Carthage, but I'm not sure on the case of Carthage.

Ok, I’m back, with a wordier update. This annoys me a lot. The French fortify a spearman right next to Carthage. Now, the citizens look out and see them encamping outside and say, “What?” Hannibal was reassuring the people that there are no hostile relations between France and Carthage, but he is uneasy. Soon, he knows, war will be inevitable.
Annoyingspearman.jpg

Will you look at that! They go ahead and declare war in 800 BC. But, being the best unit in the Carthaginian army, the Numidian Mercenaries make quick work of the attacking warriors. The warriors come into the northwestern part of Carthage and are showered with javelins by the defenders. Seeing the rout of their comrades, the spearmen watching from nearby flee to the west, waiting for reinforcements. With the recent victory of the defenders, the civilization enters a “Golden Age”.
Frenchwar.jpg

690- After having held off the French, the Carthaginians prepare for an offensive. Knowing that no French unit could single handedly attack and kill the Numidian Mercenaries, they train more. Also, while traveling north, the CRN-Carthage finds a new, seafaring civilization. They are called the Scandinavians, or for short, the Vikings.
MeetVikings.jpg

------------------------------------------------------
While trying to repel the French forces, the 3rd Numidian Mercenaries charge up the hill at the French Spearmen. Although they are defeated, they destroy almost the whole French force, leaving only 200 of the original 600. Then, the 2nd Numidian Mercenaries charge. They charge, defeating the spearmen, but losing 200 men themselves. Although it is a risky move, the general knows the other spearmen are out of range.

Somehow, the spearmen defend and defeat the 2nd Numidians! Therefore, the city is undefended!
The Savage French capture the city!
Carthagelost.jpg

But, soon after, the 4th Numidians retake the city!
Carthageretaken.jpg

All in the same year, the CRN-Carthage meets two foreigners. The Chinese and the Aztecs. The Aztecs are a very advanced civilization.

Soon, the French send down two warriors, and a spearman. However, one of the warriors is defeated, and the two remaining units wait for reinforcements.

Also that year, the CRN-Carthage finds a very advanced civilization. They are more advanced than the Aztecs. They are called the Incans, and they are lead by a man named Pachacuti.
370 BC- Joan d’Arc comes to the new capital of Utica with an offer. A peace treaty for the knowledge of the code of warriors. Hannibal agrees, since he does not have a military. Yet.

Wonder Update!
Spoiler :
310 BC- The Korean city of Seoul completes the Colossus.
290 BC- The Mayan city of Chichèn Itza completes the Pyramids.
270 BC- The Spanish city of Madrid completes the Temple of Artemis.
270 BC- The Aztec city of Tenochtitlan completes the Great Lighthouse.
270 BC- The Dutch city of Amsterdam completes the Great Wall.

230- My people can chart the territory of the world, so they begin to work on another metal, Iron.
MapMaking.jpg

130 BC- In a trade for knowledge, the French get pots, and the Carthaginians get Iron. They now start on calculations.
50 BC- The city of Carthage completes a settler and begins on a Numidian.
70 AD- Leptis Magna founded. Work begins on a barracks.
LeptisMagna.jpg

130 AD- The Japanese city of Kyoto finishes the Statue of Zeus.
KyotoSOZ.jpg

250 AD- The Carthaginian mages see that the empire gained its third city, so they go to Hannibal and say, we have a way to count. He says, now build large construction projects.
Mathematics.jpg

300 AD- Ragnar Lodbrok comes to the city of Utica with a deal. Mysticism for mathematics. Hannibal wishing to spread common knowledge, accepts.
Ragnar-MathforMyth.jpg

320 AD- Theveste is founded near the northern iron. I’m sure the three French spearmen and the two archers aren’t to happy to report this to Joan d’Arc.
Theveste.jpg

370- The Inca demand 22 gold. Knowing they could conquer the empire, Hannibal accepts.
Incademand.jpg

480- The Iroquois city of Salamanca completes the Great Lighthouse.
SalamancaGL.jpg

Also in that year, the city of Hippo is founded northeast of Carthage.
Hippofounded.jpg

Ten years later, the Chinese declare war on the Incan Empire.
Inca-China.jpg

In the year 540 the Germans declare war on the Chinese as well.
Germany-China.jpg

40 years after the German entering of the war, the scientist of Hippo, Theveste, and Carthage travel to Utica to show the construction projects they have completed. Hannibal is impressed, but will be more impressed if they can ride horses. The scientists leave, confused.
Construction.jpg

In 590, the Incans, despite the wars, complete the Sistine Chapel.
CuzcoSistineChapel.jpg

10 years later, the Spanish, destined to complete their second wonder, finish the Knights Templar in Barcelona.
BarcelonaKnightsTemplar.jpg

The Spanish must have a lot of shield. In the year 630, they finish the Art of War.
MadridArtofWar.jpg

In 650, the head scientist, Barca, comes into the palace of Utica, riding a horse. Hannibal asked him where he got it, and he said he “borrowed it from the French.” So, Hannibal knows if they learn of this, it will be war. So he prepared to have it on the French turf.
HorsebackRiding.jpg

Later, Mao came to Hannibal and asked for an alliance against the Inca. But, the Inca “are our friends,” so he declines.
MaoAlliance-declined.jpg

After 150 years of bloodshed, the Germans and Chinese sign a peace treaty.
Germany-ChinaPeace.jpg

Some years later, the CRN-Carthage discovers another civilization- the Indians.
Another civilization is met- the Iroquois.
meetiroquois.jpg

In 770, Hannibal is tired of the French people, so he goes to war. Thus the Second Franco-Punic war begins.
Frenchwar2.jpg

After losing a sword division to the French, the armies of the Carthaginians defeat the spearman and archer.

On another note, the Incan finish Leonardo’s Workshop in Maccu Pichu.
MaccuPichuLeonardos.jpg

The exploring CRN-Carthage finds another civilization, the Mayans.
After defeating two spearmen, the swordsmen of the 11th Division do the honors of cleaning up the soldiers.

Thus ends the Second Franco-Punic War.

How did you get past the spearmen when you declared war on them?

Welcome!!! :goodjob::band:[party]

I agree, I think you face a serious uphill battle here. I like your writing and generous use of pictures - it's very entertaining.

I see two items that I think could really help you win games. I understand wanting to build wonders - it's fun. But I would suggest that the Pyramids when you have 2 cities led to severe underexpansion. For maximum wonders at Warlord, I would skip the AA wonders, expand, and then build the rest. I also didn't notice if you made any tech trades - you did run into rotten luck having France as your neighbor with the same starting technologies. I'd suggest going for a Republic or Monarchy slingshot to get out of Despotism and trade for the other starting techs if you could.

Again, I like your approach to stories and hope you post more.
