Basically I had uninstalled civ so that I could play it on another computer, leaving the saved games, preferences, etc. on. It didn't work on the other computer so I am have trying to reinstall it, but it is listed as installed. When I press Play on the autorun it shows the loading screen and then has these errors:

Failed Loading XML file.xml\GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos.xml.
LoadXML. call failed for GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos.xml.
Failed Loading XML file xml\GameInfo/CIV4GraphicOptionInfos.xml.
LoadXML. call failed for GameInfo/CIV4GraphicOptionInfos.xml.

Then it terminates. I would rather not have to uninstall especially manually my best games of civ, so I am just asking if there is another way. The computer that has this problem is a Windows Vista Home Premium. Thank you for any help.

This is the complete set of civilization. So you're saying that I remove the files anyway?

you will likely need to reinstall - and what is keeping you from doing so is that in the installshield installation information folder some files are still left that tell windows that the game is still installed. - I just want to find out what files you need to remove from there.
With complete do you mean the Complete Edition or each of the games separately? If complete edition: the European or the US one?

Well it's the US version, the complete set, expansions and the original, on one disc.

ok,
uninstall using the control panel
whether or not that works then delete
\installshield installation information\{30D1F3D2-54CF-481D-A005-F94B0E98FEEC}
\InstallShield Installation Information\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}
\InstallShield Installation Information\{EF36A836-BF89-4A4F-B079-057B0C68C1E0}

then try to reinstall - if this is vista or 7 make sure to right click on the installer and choose run as admin.

I tried to do the automatic uninstall, but it says as I click it "setup.exe has stopped working". This is a vista so how would I find the installshield installation information, I'm more used to the XP way of finding things.

Sorry for taking so long, the install shield folder was empty in the regular program files. Program Files x86 did not have it, it did have all of my civilization data.
