Europe Screen - upcoming tax rise
According to the tooltip of the Europe Screen are only 10% of the yields earned by selling goods in Europe or Africa are taken into account for the next tax rise by your king. For the sake of simplicity this division should be dropped while also increasing the threshold tenfold.

Well, this is not really a bug but the way how it's implemented can surely be improved. ;-)
 
The combat log needs some polishing. Descriptive Text is entirely missing for draws and in-battle retreats. There is only one text tag for victories which does not differ between land or naval combat. The text for the message log suffers from that, too. A minor expansion would be nice. :-)
 
hey guys, do we have an ETA for the next patch/fixes?

From what I read, the main issue now is to track desyncs during multiplayer. Nightinggale says that can be tested with a network command, which makes all computers write a log file at the same time. If there is no desync, all the data is identical.

It sounds like multiplayer sessions would be helpful.
 
As an possible improvement I decreased Natives price for food by 2, so now it is twice cheaper. Now it is not super expensive and never buying product, but quite useful staff if you rich enough and your colony starving.

Buying food is already a super strong strategy if you buy from a 'traders' tribe and useful from other types of tribes.
 
yes, multiplayer is very important. but to delay the release of the Big Rivers because of it, I think it is wrong.
We can test the multiplayer fix once in place and we can revert fairly fast. We now also found out that bargaining with natives when selling them stuff also desynchs the game.
 
The founding father Jacques Cartier gives you two free promotions: Sea Explorer and also Mobility 2. Yep, Mobility 2. Both promotions are nice to have, but, why not give Mobility 1 instead?
(that is something which I might be able to fix myself)

Btw, the 2 promotions are given to Whaling Boats, but not to Fishing Boats. Aren't Fishing Boats merchant ships, too? They also do not benefit from the bonusses given upon construction by a naval port.
 
2.8.2.2 was released on December 23, 2020. Since then the more detailed original German has been translated into English, and other text including the Colopedia has also been upgraded.

I’ve put an attachment in the Grammar thread for anyone playing in English.

All the text documents have been committed so they’ll be part of any new release, but I’d like players to mention spelling problems or, most importantly, gameplay errors as soon as possible.

Guys, I've attached a new DLL and bumped the version number to 2.8.2.3 (HEAD: 07b9612)

Note that there's been a number of important bug fixes and performance improvements since the last version (2.8.2.2)

Another note: There's been some changes to python screens but I don't think those files are needed so I only provide an updated DLL for now. Please test and report back if you get python exceptions so I can add those files to the download if they are needed.

I capture a corvette and after a fight they didn't receive any xp from the battle. I never use corvette before, so I dont no if it a bug or a feature :shifty:

Edit: I thought the unit get xp from every battle. But it looks like the ship didn't get any xp from an escaping ship

As a small addition - hurry cost should be increased for all buildings from 0 to 100 or 150, because now it is too cheap to buy buildings in colonies. Thanks.
