Why on Earth would international laws change a game's release date? Don't companies have the right to choose when to release their own product? We live in the 21st century. Having different release dates for different countries is just stupid.

I just thought of an upside to mandating steam: it will prevent screw-ups like the one that happened with the release of BtS that resulting in everyone except the US getting the game a week early.
