Release Date

When will this be released? This site says July 23rd, but Amazon.com says July 10th. What's the deal?

Rule of thumb with release dates: Always go with the later date, it will save you some disappointment in the end.

Anyways July 23 is the release date. And keep in mind by release date they mean ship date so you might not see it in stores for a day or two.

Yeah, July 23rd is the shipping date, which means you'll be lucky if you can find it in a store on the 24th.

In Europe however, well at least in the UK, the release date is the 27th. The rest of Europe, particullarly Western Europe, is likely to be either the same, or not long after.

Don't listen to Amazon, they are blowing wind up your skirt on that one. I even emailed them to let them know that even the game publisher said it was going to be released to the public on July 23, and they sent back a lame response: "Well, according to our records, it will be released on July 10th." I guess Amazon knows better than 2kgames and Firaxis.

If I were you, either hope your local electronics store gets copies by the week of the 23rd, or else order from a more... realistic online vendor, like EBgames. You probably won't be as disappointed then waiting for two weeks on Amazon's "early release."

Interesting enough amazon.ca says July 24th. Which is way more correct than amazon.com.

Theres already a thread about Amazon's release date. I think the general point is that sites post an earlier release date than scheduled so that ppl will order from them. When asked about they say it was a "mistake"

Look at the top right of this screen it says "BTS only 23 days left 'till release" i'd be inclined to trust that over some online shop.
