Remember that "Taliban Spice Girls" joke...?

Do you remember the (rather lame) joke about the "Taliban Spice Girls" (Veil Spice, Masked Spice, etc.)?

Well, it's all coming true, there's an Afghan girl group called the "Burka Band", who wear traditional clothing, thus a Burka.

I saw it in the late news and thought of that cartoon, too. Their performance was quite impressive..., ok, it was bad, but the text is funny and I think Afghanistan is partly on a good way if they now can make jokes about burkas.

Yes, the cartoon was the first thing that came to my mind also. And I watched Harald Schmidt before and waited for Frasier, too

I don't know what is behind it either, very weird. If they are allowed to play instruments now they could turn off their burkas, but they make fun of it. Don't know if this gets a blockbuster in Afghanistan...
