Remove jungle/marsh before oil?

I'm sure this must be answered somewhere, but I can't find it: does removing a terrain feature where a resource might appear before discovering the tech that reveals the resource negate the chance that the resource will be found on that tile? So for instance, if I chop a jungle/clear a marsh from a tile before discovering biology, does that mean that tile will no longer contain oil when I do get to biology?

My understanding is that those resources are placed on worldgen and do not get removed thereafter.

no. changing the features of a tile won't change its resources... it's the same regardless of the visibility of the resource.

Agreed, clear that Marsh away.

As to the Jungle, you may be better of adding trading posts to the jungle tiles without resources due to the post University science boost.
