Do anyone know how to remove the score ui?

Me and my friends have been playing civ multiplayer since civnet however it i always the same when a new civ is released, one can se everybodys scores and thereby know how good everyone is doing and thereby half the players dont want to play after 1h since someone is in a big lead etc. It completly destroys the experiens and have always been solved by painting over the grafics with black/destroy this interface in the game.

Have anyone successfully destroyed this interface yet, thus making this game playable?

The score UI annoys me a lot, but I don't think it makes it 'unplayable'. I haven't had a chance yet to see whether some XML file could set it off (to 0, that is).

You could mod that out no doubt, but mods for MP are not enabled yet, and there is no setting for disable it. Quitting is always an issue, and that was one of the founding principles of Civplayers....to prevent quitting as soon as a player didn't see himself winning.

I FOUND IT! I FRIGGING FOUND IT!

Go to the follow path: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Assets\UI\InGame\WorldView\

Open MPList.xml.

On the fifth row there is the following:

Code:
<ScrollPanel Anchor="R,T" Size="175,200" Offset="0,120" Vertical="1" ID="MPListScroll" [B]Hidden="0" >[/B]

Edit the last value, Hidden="0", to 1. I tested this with a friend and it *WORKED*. I'm overjoyed!

Unfortunately this applies only on the player who does this modification. Thus everyone who leaves it as "0" will keep seeing the score screen. Very frustrating, one might think Firaxis would do a simple XML checkup routine at the start of each MP match, but noooo....

No score and no demographics is key to a better multiplayer experience. In starcraft, you build defense because your opponent "might" attack. In civ, you check demographic and determine defense is unnecessary because your opponent has no army.

Gah, I found a problem in this. Once you meet someone you can just open the diplomacy screen and people will see the points.

So it'd be just better to set the scoring values all to zero. That way everyone has 0 points all the time...

Demographics also needs fixing along with score.

"My opponent is 10% ahead of me in literacy. I forfeit, gg"
"My opponent has 100+ mfg. I forfeit, gg"
"My opponent has x crop yield. Therefore, he went civil service, maybe to education, rather than steel. Therefore I should attack with many longswords."

Should all this information be readily available? It should be garnered from players seeing what wonders and units are built, rather than simply by glancing at demographics.

This *should* be an option in the game start menu (disable score display) or something along those lines. Unfortunately, as you seem to have found out, there is no 'easy' way around it completely as of yet.

Yeah. Civ could use some polish.

These things should be available if you'd have espionage.

I believe it is possible to completely eliminate the WhosWinning.xml from the UI folder. That way clicking the demographics button would show nothing...

Especially when you have espionage in unmet civilizations across the globe... and have results with 0% error...

I recall certain espionage estimates of German tanks in world war 2 that were 4x what the Germans actually had.
