When I had a chance to speak with President Hernandez Morales today, in the capital building in Bogotá, he was very pleased to see the press so eager to talk to him. Of course this may seem strange, as a President he should have expected many interviews with Newspapers all over the nation. But to the point, I spoke with him for nearly two hours on the morning of May 18th. I told him how I was a huge supporter of his Campaign during the elections last October. He was again very happy to hear this. Then I got into asking questions. He never stuttered during anything. He never hesitated to deliver an answer. Here follows the Interview with his word for word responses.
Jacob Mosley: Sir, good morning.
Pres. Hernandez: Good Morning to you too.
JM: Well I have a few questions to ask you are you ready to do this interview?
PH: Yes of course I am always ready.
JM: Good, first. What are you, as President, doing to improve the future of New Granada.
PH: Well, Jacob, I am as we speak finalizing plans for a large harbor system in port cities on the Atlantic. These should in the future bring more trade and in turn will help our desperately low economy to rise up and rival that of other nations around the globe.
JM: That sounds like a good plan. What plans do you have for Bogotá? Anything special for our beloved capital?
PH: We are going to begin the construction of a large Museum and Library sometime next year. And hope to teach the history of the peoples of Granada as well as help our children learn to read.
JM: Interesting. So how about the military? We know you have a large interest In the militaries of the world. Will you be bringing that to the table during your six year term?
PH: Yes I will defiantly be bringing that up.
JM: Can you enlighten us on this subject?
PH: Well we are trying our best to get new and better training methods for our soldiers. New weapons are in development as well. The navy is our main concern. We see a world power size naval force would really show the might of Granada. And put us as one of the top nations in the world.
JM: Well thank you answering those questions.
PH: Is that all? Good cause I have a meeting to go to. Good luck on your reporter career.
That interview was short but I plan on getting another one in the near future. Remember, keep reading the Bogotá Daily for all your top news stories.
