Bought the game a few days ago and downloaded via Steam - Latest Patch (v.1.0.1.332)

Played single game through to turn 440 - no problems at all (apart from odd behaviour when trying to skip the intro movie), loving it

Then...

After hitting end turn on turn 440, during the AI moves the game crashed, does it every time. It happens just after a Persian sumbarine bombards and destroys my Carrier.

Troubleshooting tried:

Running in DX9
Setting all graphics options to LOW or OFF (including no anti-aliasing, v-sync, or high detail strategy view)
Deleting: My Docs/My Games/Civ 5 folder (so game rebuilds it during start-up)
Verifying integrity of cache through Steam (1 file couldn't be verified and was re-downloaded) - however it does this every time!!
Downloaded latest Catalyst driver
Re-Installed Direct X11

All to no avail.

Here's the savegame link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0OAVUHQR

Just hit end turn and the game will crash.

I would very much appreciate if anyone would like to try running my savegame and see if it crashes on their system too :)

For the purposes of bug hunting I have found a way to not make it crash - just move my destroyer which is just off the coast of Dariush Kabir - two hexes to the right - THEN hit end game....

The destroyer takes the hit from the Persian Submarine, not my Carrier - AND THE GAME DOESN'T CRASH.

So come on Fireaxis - this has got to be enough info to go on to get to the bottom of this bug hasn't it????

I can post a full DXDiag if you require.

So what have I got to do to get a reply on this? I have a game that I just paid £20 for which I can't finish because of a bug - when can I expect something to be done about this?

Would really appreciate a confirmation that this is in fact a bug - I have already had one person confirm that my savegame crashes on their system when they hit 'end-turn' - could anyone else confirm this so we can get this bug confirmed as official?

I have had the same crash, but not all the time. It is very inconsistant. I have reloaded from an autosave (1 or 2 turns earlier) and had no problems.

Well, which is more likely to get a response is a bit unpredictable, but you could try posting about it on the official publisher's forums. No guarantee that'll work, but...

Plus, you posted over the weekend. It's Monday. If it's going to get any response from a developer (they do pop up here), it'll be in the working week, I imagine.

Honestly, you're best bet is to go official routes for true tech support. People here aren't generally going to help if it's not a 'general' issue that has a common answer.

Thank you for the save, it's helped us identify a problem. For the time being, you can get past it by switching to strategic view for that turn to end your turn. Then you can go back to normal and continue.

I'll try this workaround!

I have had several greats games stopped in the late game due to a CTD like those described above.
