Republican representative endorses Obama, as does former GOP mayor of Los Angeles

Oh please, they made him the VP nominee in 2000. If that wasn't a show of support or loyalty what else is?

I'm not going to go along w/ the crowd that says he's evil incarnate (for example, I pretty much agree with your first paragraph), but you are certainly trying to spin the perception.
2000 is ancient history. ;) That was before he parted with the mainstream Democratic party by supporting the Iraq War. Selecting him as the VP nominee was no great show of loyalty in 2000, because he wasn't horribly unpopular. You don't get any points for sticking by your friends when they agree with you, and ditching them when they disagree with you. That isn't loyalty.

Maybe I am - or maybe I just have a different perception. ;) I'm not really a big fan of Lieberman; after all, he's still on the opposite side of the political spectrum from me. I just dislike the demonization that he's gone through over a single issue. (Especially considering how the Senate vote was authorizing the War in Iraq, IIRC, was something like 77-33. Both Clinton and Biden, I believe, voted for it.)
