Republicans Against Drinking Water

Rush lost some influence recently (about a year ago I think?) with that whole fiasco where he went on a huge tirade about how this college girl who wanted birth control to be subsidized as part of Obamacare was a disgusting slut and other such nonsense. A bunch of large corporations pulled their commercials off his channel for that, though he's obviously still on the air.
I don't know how Obamacare is supposed to fund the pull-out method, myself.

Because he lost some of his prime advertisers (I remember Coca-Cola being on the list so these were some pretty big deal companies) and as we all know influence is directly correlated with money.

That influence could return very quickly should the GOP regain power though.

We have our own Rush Limbaugh in Australia, Alan Jones. He lost a lot of influence when he was caught on tape claiming that our former-Prime Minister Julia Gillard's father "died of shame" because she was a liar. He lost a huge number of sponsors and the radio station he was on had to actually suspend commercials during his show to disguise how few sponsors they had left. But now that his best bud and fellow right-wing lunatic Tony Abbott is running the country (into the ground, I might add) he's begun to accumulate sponsors once more.

I understand that the GOP has a decent chance of winning the 2016 election, so Rush could well bounce back.

It's all part of the Obamas' sinister plot to rid themselves of their opposition. Realizing that anything they suggest will be rabidly opposed by right-wing extremists, they devised a plan...

Phase one was promoting a healthy diet.
This water-drinking thing (Water-gate?) is phase two.
Watch in the coming years for phase three, in which Michelle Obama suggests that breathing air is healthy, and conservatives respond by suffocating themselves en masse.

That was a good dream.

I'm surprised the Obamas haven't tried it already.

Spoiler :
Frankly, I think the US is hopelessly politically divided. Liberals and conservatives have vanishingly little in common with each other in terms of values, ideals, and objectives. Unfortunately they're stuck in the nasty situation of having to live in the same country with the same government, meaning they're always working at cross-purposes and can accomplish nothing. Rush Limbaugh and his minions make this problem even worse by dividing people even more. The left can't even gently suggest that people live healthy without the right screaming in opposition. And there's no solution to these irreconcilable differences.
