I am sure the makers of BUG/BAT/BULL are well aware of the old Mastery Victory mod. I was poking around and noticed that it has apparently been successfully ported to 3.19. Sadly, I must choose between BUG and Mastery, and BUG always wins:)

I humbly, and with great appreciation for everyone's time and talents, request that "Mastery Victory" be added to BUG/BULL if and when the mod continues to progress. It is, by its very nature, optional. While it is a gameplay altering mod in a sense I don't feel like it's the same as something like new techs or ranged bombardment. In short, I think it would be a perfect addition to the family of features and fits quite well with the purpose of the project.

It looks like the source code isn't easily available, so possibly no.

It may also break the Unaltered Gameplay rules of BUG, and that would make it a definite no if that were the case.

Nifty idea, though.

It would have to be tweaked to work with BTS 3.19 up from warlords, but the source code is right here. I honestly don't have the knowledge to do it or I wouldn't be begging :D

It does, to some extent, alter gameplay. However, I think two things argue for adding it. First, it isn't a completely trivial task to integrate it with BULL. Second, it has zero impact on gameplay if the player unchecks it when starting the game.

Hey, just a suggestion. Thanks again for the great mods guys(and girl.);)

As far as BUG goes, the final decision of gameplay breaking would be up to EF and ruff. I have a little more freedom with BAT and I like the idea, so maybe I could make it an option in a future version, or a BXP module.

BXP modules can sort of dodge the issue because they are completely optional, and they already include the Modern Era expansion, which does alter the game.

Thank you for the source code link. I'll take a look at it. :)

This is an interesting call - add an option that totally changes how the game plays, but the option is optional so it can still be unaltered game play. To me, this might be best approached by asking the creator of the mod to create a mod-mod including BUG. That way he / she has all of the integration issues :).

Apart from the dll (assuming there is dll coding), are they any python files in conflict?

Hey, some of the map scrips are pretty wild too. They definitely alter gameplay. I would never want or ask for BUG+BULL mod to add a new civic or trait, but I'm not sure this is the same.

I think the mod was by Sevo and I'm not sure he's modded in a while. I could be wrong, but that was my impression. Also, I really think the feature would be a nice addition along the same lines as Global Warming, which I usually apply when I compile trunk.

Also, if it is a Bug/Bull modmod then it will fall grossly out of date if the project heats up again. I'm actually arguing for its inclusion, at least as a compile option for Bull similar to Gwarm, precisely so that it will "stay on."

CvVictoryScreen.py is the only Python file in the mod.

Anyhow, as I said before, just a suggestion.

Me neither - I'll let EF chime in.
CvVictoryScreen.py is the only Python file in the mod.
Oh - sounds like it is all dll then - that is EF's kettle of fish. I can handle the python once we have a dll option that I can use to turn any modified code on/off.

I'm on a bit of a holiday from school/work for a couple of weeks, and I was planning to do a bunch of DLL work to fix up BAT's female unit art routines, and get rid of the kludgy old Python code that I wrote to handle it originally. Something in that Python code is breaking the Better BAT AI merge, so I'm going to do it up for both BAT and BBAI. I'm also merging in the latest UP into BAT 3.1.

Busy girl me. :run:

So, I might have some things that need to be turned on and off.

You did say you didn't have enough Python work. :p

Were some of them rendering outside the kitchen again? :mischief:

Kidding, of course.

Anyhow, I am thrilled this suggestion is on the radar. I know it may not end up being worth it/deemed appropriate/etc, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to bring it up :king:

Oh - I might be susceptible to a bit of sweet talk. Or some directions of things to do in Nova Scotia.

Opps. Missed this. Double post!

1. Avoid PEI, unless you like golf and pre-pubescent red-heads (and the mandatory Anne of Green Gables souvenirs.)
2. Cape Breton is nice, but rugged. Make sure your car has good brakes.
3. The Old Triangle Irish pub in downtown Halifax is a must do. (Their Boxtys are terrific! If you like Irish food that is. Mmmm... home cookin'... Darn! Now I'm hungry, and they'll be closed by the time I get fixed up and drive in... :()
4. Peggy's Cove is interesting, the first time. Go during the week.
5. Towns along the South Shore, like Lunenberg, Mahone Bay, and Chester, are quite lovely.
6. The antiquing is good, I suppose, if you're into that sort of thing like I'm not.

Hmmm. So much for Travel Agent Nat. I can't even make this place sound exciting. ;)
