Request for option or modmod

I would like very much to have the option to disallow AI magic research, basically, blocking everything down the Knowledge of the Ether tree. I think there was a modmod called something like Smarter Orcs at some point which did this, but I can't find an up-to-date version.

The reason for the request is obviously to get a bit more challenging single-player games. It is frustrating to see the AI waste ressources on guilds, adepts, wonders, and techs which it does not (yet?) master...

I think that most of the magic techs already have very low weight for the AI, so you could try raising how much they value all the other techs I suppose.


Give Modular FfH a shot and use the AI Cheater Tweak. I allowed them to directly build T3 & T4 magic units, and in the little testing I did they enjoyed actually casting spells a fair amount.
