Resolution hz problems

To make a long story short:

Civ3 thinks it must run in 1024x768 at 80hz or something. My monitor only runs 75hz, and thus i cant play the game, which i payed alot of money for

You may want to try to put your refresh rate at 60hz.... This works for me anyway
I also had problems when i had my resolution higher then 1024.

well do you mean change the hz rate in windows? cuz im running 1024x768 in 75hz without problems - why the hell does it need 85 ??

Search the tech support forum I saw a thread from a guy at firaxis tech support and in that thread i saw some info that could help you out. seems that its a window bug that requires some registry tweekning there is some details info on how to do this

and yes i meant changing refresh rate in window, my monitor support 60 and 75 only

Here's the fix for this problem...

In your Civilization 3 folder, there is a file Civilization3.ini (or something like that). Place the following in that file:

Refresh=60
