Uh, main problem with the ufo is that I haven't seen one

what would the settings be to have resource disappear quickly? Say like lumbar after the forest or jungle have been cleared?

Smallest value in 'disappearance value' you can give is 1. Then it has 1:1 chance (100%) to disappear per turn. If value is 10, then chance is 1:10 (10%) per turn.

However there are no ways to make timber disappear after forest has been cleared. Clearing a forest does not have effect on disappearance probability.
