Respawn AI?

The AI respawn option is ON, as that's part of the default rules of the game. We didn't poll those, which include types of allowable victory conditions, toggling of SGL, and allowing culture flips. All those are on, and when the game was set up, I assumed that was the default that everyone wanted, since no one brought the subject up before.

I'm sure mine defaults to re-spawn off, at least all the games I play have it off, as have all the demogames (I believe). Isn't there a problem with C3C though taking the parameters from the previous game that was set up?

edit: I was thinking about the scenario bug that CT posted as point 4 in this post for the last demogame.

no way i'm playing a respawn AI game. that just makes it unfair and unfun IMO. when they made the game, it shouldn't have been default. anyway, is there a way we can extract the seed and have the same start, but fix this problem. (and the barbs...)

Respawn only affects early demise of an AI, or at least I think I've seen info that says beyond a certain point they don't come back. We're not going to try an archer rush, are we?

Actually, you can retrieve the seed if it comes to that -- but we should play it as is and just adapt our play to match.

*slaps hand on forehead*

Default!? Never assume anything in the demogame... (great, now we have a game with the wrong rulesets... and you know what? It'll gonna be even harder now since the AI will keep on respawning themselves if we purposely leave huge traces of land open...)

Don't we usually leave culturally linked starts off, too? Now we know that Rome, France, and England will probably start near us...

So we can restart the game or abbandon the 5CC thing

i never played with respawn AI so it doesn't really matter to me...
when they repond though, do they start of from ancient times? if s we could us them as a satelite nation and just pick gold out of them easy right?

Umm, they don't spontaneously respawn, and we're not planning to kill any off, are we? I guess this would make conquest a bit more difficult... :P

If these settings are enough of a problem, there is a utility which would let us modify them, or extract the seed and restart the game with the exact same map but with the options changed.

please do that. i think we should play it with the setting we want, not with respawn AI...

there is no need to restart, its like replaying a save, and I remember a JR outlawing going back
Onward!

We haven't technically played a turn, so all we did was see our land, and if we extract the seed we get the same starting position right? If we do, no harm is done, we haven't done anything to impact the game yet so I think extracting the seed if fine.

Translation: Someone who's bothered by this should post a poll, quickly, referencing the discussion and the options we've got (Do nothing, restart entirely, extract seed and restart w/ seed, abstain).

And for the record, please don't bring this to the Judiciary - I'll toss it out. This is a citizen matter.

This type of action would need a clear majority to proceed. Someone who is an actual supporter of taking some action would need to put it before the assembly.

here it is...please vote.
