Return to PBEM

I hope you can accept my apology and also my word on this, and that we can continue to play out this game :)

Of course the game will continue, & with the original four players so long as we continue to play the turns. As far as letting the game die, the is an alternative method of replcing a player if need be without having your password so it is really not a big deal & DogBoy has already said he is willing to help out if it is ever necessary.

I was not really bothered by unwillingness to send passwords, but rather what I perceived as inconsideration from the start and wasting my time as well as DogBoy's when we did not need to bother with it. I could have just went with the alternative plan from the start.

I accept yourt apology as one who has maybe made a mistake or two in the past himself. ;) Like I said earlier, no hard feelings.

@Theoden - I appreciate that you did send your password and I will tell DogBoy to delete it from wherever he has it saved.

turn sent a few hours ago, but I did not have time to post because i barely got it played before I had to leave for church.

however I assure you that although I may be late with turns at times,

Pardon my directness, but THIS part concerns me far more than any password controversy. It was my understanding that we would be able to play this PBEM at least 1 turn a day. I am pretty disappointed in the pace thus far.

the pace has been pitifully slow, illness of course i understand and occassional RL situations, even missing a turn once a week. but in the same paragraph i mentioned the password thing i also said:

please try to play every 24 hours, at least in 48. if situations arise in which you cannot play the turn for whatever reason please email, pm, or post to let the rest of us know.

to clarify what i meant:

1) play the turn everyday
2) if for some good reason you are unable to play the turn on a particular day, play it the next day
3) if you cant play on a given day then email, pm, or post

it seems the turn is only being played about every other day

I will offer this once and only once, if you wish to replace me now then do so, I can play these turns more or less every day though at times it may be 48 hrs, but on average every day.

Im not about to make any more apologies and hope to continue the game with you all :)

Edit Do you want to play civ or bicker about this and that ??????????

i am not trying to bicker and i think it appropriate to continue this discussion of the thread so i will email you shortly. it is not my desire to replace anyone.

Now, to take it down to the facts:
Until now we have played 20 turns as we are currently at 3000BC. It was a just about a month since the game was started so that makes one turn take one and a half day at average. As I am not an experienced PBEM player I don't know if it is particularly slow but it seems so to me that this is the case.
Counting all together we are 10 days behind the schedule of 1 turn/day
Four days was lost because Chrisius was ill and one because of my holiday(which I think is both okay, I just wish Chrisius would have informed us earlier)
This means we have five days because of other things which is not too good, but in fact it isn't as bad as we think because if the delays because of illness and vacation hadn't occured the game would take 1,25 day per turn. Not that I'm trying to make the problem smaller than it this, I just wanted to put out the facts.
Anyway I hope we can find a way to get this moving faster

thank you for your insight Theoden, but I am not able to comment. In email exchange Chrisius and I discussed the problem and we were not hostile towards one another, but we were not as friendly as we could have been either. I don't think he sees my point of view nor do I really see his. As a result i don't think we solved anything, but right now I think the best course of action is to wait and see how the game moves over a longer period of time. Having said all that I think it is best if I drop the subject for now.

Chrisius did say he cannot play the turn normally on weekends, he might have mentioned it before, but I was not aware, so some delays on weekends can be expected.

I have no hard feelings at all Predesad, you raised your concerns and we discussed them, its just a difference of opinions is all :)

The weekends thing is just an insurance for if Im busy with the family.

I fully agree we should now drop this debate and focus on playing civ :)

I couldn't agree more :)

BTW, I have no hard feelings to anyone even though I may have seemed like it.

Turn sent to Chrisius :) :)

not trying to be pushy, i know we all have RL and cant play everyday, just wanted to verify that i have not received a turn today in case it was lost somewhere
