I installed Firefox a while back, and chose to have it as my default browser.
However, now it has stopped working, and I would like to revert Internet Explorer to my default browser, as I can't access some features.
How would I go about doing this?

Cheers.

Go to start>control panel>add or remove programs>set program defaults and access>custom.

Should be there.

Just reinstall firefox :).

Please give details of how "it won't work". There could be other programs you installed that change the default browser setting back.

Or do you mean FireFox doesn't work after reinstall?

nonc, this is what you need to do.

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Move your mouse to the menu bar and click on Tools

3. Move your mouse down and select Internet Options (click on it)

4. Click on the Programs TAB, it should be between the "Advanced" and "Connections" tabs.

5. At the bottom you should see something which says "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" and a blank small box to the right of it.

6. Click on that box making sure there's a check mark inside it.

7. Close Internet Explorer.

8. Start Internet Explorer again and it should give you an option to set it as the default browser.

Viola!

Just make sure you don't change it back should Firefox ask you the same thing (otherwise you just repeat this process)

PS File associations are different from default web browser setttings. So if you are opening saved html files on your computer and they are opening with firefox, you may need to (assuming you want internet explorer to open them):

1. Right click and select Open With
2. Select Internet Explorer with Always Open with This Program CHECKED

Viola!
