Tanks on the Red Square
The traitor and madman, Vitali Lysenko, has been deposed by the Red Army in a coup d'etat, supported by the Soviet people. He and his henchmen fought furiously against the forces of justice, but were finally arrested, tried and executed for treason and crimes against humanity.
Bringing Down A Criminal
Lysenko, who had been corrupting and manipulating the workings of the people's government to his own personal ends for many years, finally seized power after the murder of our beloved Premier Sillari in September of last year. In his insanity, he launched a reckless naval attack against the Hegemony, the backers of the thugs behind the assassinations. This provoked a massive nuclear exchange, which devastated many regions of the Soviet Union and our allies, causing the deaths of millions of people. In an attempt to escape the people's justice, Lysenko committed more crimes against the people, murdering officials who have turned against him, and using force against peaceful demonstrators, causing the deaths of many thousands more.
In the face of these atrocities, the opposition led by the people's Red Army organized quickly. The Soviet military units deployed against the Hegemony mutinied and executed their corrupt commanders, who were in league with Lysenko in deceiving the people. On March 28, 1974, the Red Army staged a coup d'etat against the tyrant and criminal Lysenko. But Lysenko had fanatical supporters in his paramilitary units. Lysenko barricaded himself in the Kremlin, surrounded by loyalist forces, and waged a seven-days battle against the people's forces. Street battles between Lysenko loyalists and the people's army also took place in cities across the Soviet Union. An attempt by Lysenko to sabotage key infrastructures such as the Baku oil fields in a last act of spite was thwarted by the people's defenders. Anti-Soviet terrorists such as the HRNRA took advantage of the chaos to take over several areas.
The Final Assault
After three days of careful preparation, an assault team was assembled to storm the fortified Kremlin, Lysenko's hiding place. Fighting lasted all night and into the next day. At 2100 on April 5, the people's army broke into the inner most part of the Kremlin and arrested Lysenko, who resisted until the very end and was severely wounded when he was apprehended.
That night, Lysenko and thirteen of his accomplices, many of whom gained high positions in the Soviet government by trickery and deceit, were tried in a special court in the Red Square in presence of the coup leaders and a thousand witnesses. They were founded guilty of treason and crimes against humanity. They were taken away and shot at dawn on the morning of April 6. The other henchmen shall be tried at a later date.
KGB Chief Takes Own Life
The KGB was one of the institutions infected by Lysenko's corrupted henchmen, with the consent of the KGB Chief, Vsevolod Vasilyevich Shelepin. However, on the morning of the coup, the KGB unexpected announced its support for the people's revolutionaries. Shelepin was founded dead in his office that day; he had taken his own life. His suicide letter denounced Lysenko and expressed remorse at his part in the calamity that has befallen the Soviet Union.
An Orderly Transition
The coup leader has placed the entire country under emergency laws, but pledged to return the Soviet Union to normalcy and a democratic government as soon as possible. Highest on the agenda is getting the economy back on track and prevent a humanitarian disaster as a result of the breakdown of social order, distribution system and nuclear strikes. The Security Council pledges to restore law and order and vows to crush all anti-Soviet elements who are causing havoc and destabilizing the country. The government shall be reformed and the constitution reviewed so that such a madman as Lysenko can never be allowed to have such power again in the future.
