RFC Classical World

I just found your mod from the RFC DOC thread today and I'm excited to try it out and play the new horde civs. I've been wanting to play a RFC mod where I can be the Huns or Goths for a long time. Any chance the Huns will be in a future update and when do you think you'll be done with the visi/ostro goths update :D?

Any plans for new Nubian units? Its a little weird that they all look like early middle ages makurians with pants and thick cloth armor during the BCs.

sorry for the long delay and lack of news. first I got busy with other stuff, then I got lazy, then I got busy with other stuff again.

the Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Vandals and Lombards are in as major civs. I've coded UHVs for the first three but no other unique stuff yet. currently I'm bugfixing their spawns and I'll commit when I'm done that, which will be later today.

yes I agree about the Nubian units. I'll change it today hopefully.

I never bought Warlords, just BtS so I'll have to buy it I guess to see how they did the nomad camp thing in the Mongol scenario. actually if anyone has it could you tell me what's in the mod folder ie does it have a custom dll?

You can check the mod called the history of 3 Kingdoms -- one small nomadic civ there has Camp as a UU.

Glad to see Ancyra ... but why is it Indy ? My whole point advocating for it was to give Antigonids some capital in Phrygia, instead of Tarsus! See, Alexander left Antigonus in charge of Western Asia Minor, even if Ancyra is not the capital, it should certainly be in their core!

Nope.

It seems this file does everything for the camp.
(Just use Ctrl-F "camp")

This Camps works different. The camp from the Warlords scenario spawns new units every turn. (or every few turns, don't remember exactly) The camp from HotK improves the yield of the tile it stands on. (and IIRC, only pastures)

My bad, perhaps I forgot. Both Mods were using the same graphics, so I was under impression they do the same thing :(

Is it intentional that, on the 220bc start, the Dacians spawn in some weird square mountain formation at the very north of Russia?

changes committed

Playtesting time!

Edit: Franks and Visigoths' UP/UHV textx mixed up (I think it's mixed up with Ostrogoths as well).

RiseAndFall 3648 global name "con" is not defined (you're already importing everything from Consts, so you don't need the con. )

Nam Viet, of all civs, has territory in Egypt in Gaul. Quite odd.

Huns camping north of the Danube (or whatever civ that is, in grey in the area).

Victory, 1167 "for iLoopCiv in iNumPlayers:" is an iteration over non-sequence... (range(iNumPlayers) is what you're looking for, right?)

Barbarian activity in Western Europe is pretty good though. It nails the 400 AD mood pretty well.

With a score of 22, I'm assuming the Vandals somehow didn't get any techs. They also seem to be turtling in Carthage (doesn't know what to do with the Rebels as opposed to the Romans? maybe they don't flip anything?)
Vandals don't have a "stability indicator", which leads me to believe they might be missing war maps, etc, accounting for their behaviour.

Victory 1830 -> iRoyalMausoleum (no attribute)

this was fixed a while ago. are you using the svn or regular download?

i had THE sweetest start as the Ostrogoths today, when 36 heavy horse archers flipped to me <3 <3 <3

ho-ho-ho this will hurt my enemies :p

and you meant the 80BC start right? open the WBS (in Private Maps) with a text editor and change the start date to 79BC. I will put up a new regular download with the new civs on wednesday.

I think there is something wrong with the Kingdom of Shu, I was playing as the Kingdom of Wei and I captured all their cities causing them to be destroyed, but then the next turn they respawned and took about half my cities, (some of which weren't even theirs to begin with), and then a few turns turn later after they collapse again but they respawn again the next turn taking even more of my cities! Has anyone else seen this or is this intentional? Pretty sure I am using the latest svn.

its not intentional. can you post a save from before the weird events happened?
thanks for trying Shu.
