RFC DoC - v.1.14 - Phoenicians
Marathon game

UHV Conditions:
1) Build Palace and Great Cothon in Carthage by 300 BC
2) Control Iberia and Italy in 100 BC
3) Have 15000 gold in 200 AD

Strategy is quite simple.
1) Leave middle west and land to Northern Africa to settle capital in Carthage.
In this way Palace is built in the right place and a starting settler is saved for Iberia.
2) Settle second city in Iberia (New Carthago)
3) Search Horseback Riding for elephants then Currency for glassmaker
4) Build Great Cothon
5) Train elephants in both your cities
6) Send elephants against Rome
7) When Currency is discovered build a couple of glassmakers, then make money.
A couple of Great Merchants will get the target.

The hard part is the punic war.
If you defeat Rome, it should reborn and flip your italian cities.
If you do not defeat, it should declare war to you with some Legionaries and Catapult someware
If you occupy Italy for long, stability will go low.
So it is not an easy deal.

This is one of my games.

Let's start the history!

Easy start.
In the starting tile i found a couple of extra warriors and chariots! :smug:

Say hello to Babilonians and Jerusalem and ship to Carhtage.

Turn 206. Landing to Carthage.

Let's see the targets.

Palace well come for free. The Great Cothon should be built.
But before Great Cothon i build Granary for a faster growth and pagan temple for happiness.

The second city is New Carthago in Iberia.

It is a good place, with lot of resource in city cross and it is part of target #2.
Romans could found Tarraco three tiles north.

Turn 212.
Agriculture traded from Egypt or Babilonia.

Carthage will trade tech when it is possible, because there is no time to research other than horseback riding and currency.

This is the starting position.

In this game Greece lost a settler because it has one city only.
In the two Carthago i build Granary and Pagan Temple, using slavery and pop.

I used a chariot to explore Europe and find huts. No one descovered huts before me so i found huts in balcans, france, spain, scandinavia, and then in british islands. :king:
I got lot of money and a warrior.
No techs. :p

Turn 229.
I started to build the Great Cothon.

It will require 167 turns, but the city is still small.
The Great Cothon will be ready sooner.

Turn 277: Romans!

Romans settled Messana instead of Pompei!
Good point!
Messana is in Historical land, so it could be conquered without instability.

Turn 320: it's time to fight.
I trained some elephants, and from Iberia i crossed the alps to invade Italy.
No Tarraco in this game, so the first target is Melpum (Mediolanum).

Turn 322
I destroyed Melpum because there are no advantages to keep and control it.

Turn 332: Punic war is going to end.

Conquest of Italy.

Rome lives in a city in the east of Italy, out of italian border.
I let it survive to avoid a later re-born.

Let's make peace?

Let's wait for time of second UHV target.

Have a look to stability.

Now it's time to spead research to currency.

Turn 340. Currency

Now we have to build glassmaker in Carthago and New Carthago, then set merchant specialists in Carthago to get 2 GM.
Other cities must make money.

You what?

A stack with 2 Legionaries and 1 Catapult appear next to Rome and Messana.
It is the so called third punic war. :smoke:

In the meantime a great merchant is ready to make money in Athens.

Second target got, and golden age!

I did not understand why, but i found Catholicism in Rome.
Ortodoxy spread in Rome and immediatly there was a Christian schism.

I have no time for religious affairs. I'm making money for third target!
