Dynamic names ARE essential, little things like that make the game so much more "catchy", if you will.

What was in the 6.1 patch mentioned in Alpha 7?

No more essential than ethnically-diverse units, I think.

Take a look at pg 22, post 435. You are of the ones personally thanked

Yes, grandpa, absolutely sure :D

(Your extra tile with olives on it E of Valencia isn't in the newest version.)

I have free time before beginning some research. Are there any cosmetic improvements that the main team would like done (e.g. Civilopedia text) that are too minor to spend time on during alpha?

I believe Jessiecat's working on that, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind help.

One thing I've noticed that could use a little bit of work/flavor is the tips at the loading of the game - most of the irrelevant (submarines, etc) ones have been removed, but there aren't many which are specific to RFCEurope. If you can tinker with that file, there's a lot of good which can be done there.

(The olive thing was caused by a miscoordination, I think tho that these discussions better fit on the map thread)

See the first page on the Civilopedia Texts thread. I'm working through the Colonial Projects texts at the moment. But there's lots more to do. Buildings, Civics, etc. Whatever you fancy. Just write them on notepad and post your files to the above thread. Your help would be very, very welcome.:)

Okay, added. St. Lucifer and Jessiecat are added too. So that's everyone who I expect to contribute files.

Now you need to get an SVN program for your local computer (i.e. Tortoise SVN). Then "check-out" the project at

https://rfceurope.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rfceurope

See your SVN program's instructions for how to do this, or see my previous post, or ask for specific help. Once you have the current version of the program checked out, you can make changes to files and then "commit" those changes back to the central repository.

why there don't have my french translation ??
you can add this in new version ?

here : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZAFQ22ML

Check the French Translation tread, I tried to explain the problem there. It can still be fixed, but we do require some help from you. Basically, I did not have time to include the translations before I had to move to another state and in the mean time, changes to the English only version were introduced. We need to update the French Translations before we can include them again. Sorry for the trouble.

Hey team,

We've had a number of changes accumulating in the SVN, so we should think about releasing Alpha 8. Functionally that just means exporting the latest SVN build (to get rid of all the .svn files), updating the README with the contents of the commit log, and uploading a ZIP file that calls itself Alpha 8.

I propose Sunday evening (US Eastern: GMT-5), because Sunday afternoon is the next time I'm going to be able to put in some time on the project. Does that work for people who plan to contribute anything else? If anyone (3Miro?) has a complex change currently underway I could be persuaded to wait.

My main two tasks outstanding are: (1) merge in the new civilopedia texts and (2) merge in JediClemente's new wonders. I'm actually not sure about that second point, I need to check with JediClemente. I know there's been a lot of good discussion about moving the colonies around, but I'm sure people are anxious to have a new version, so I think we should postpone that to Alpha 9.

Wow, thanks for the increase in the deadline.

Should I give you only the files that I changed to make it easier to find the texts, or is my package good?
