RFC Europe Files

I can understand that; but lot's of mods are under constant development and nevertheless have an official thread for advertising. I'm sure you could get a lot more feedback if more people played it.

In fact, I may be wrong but it just seems to me that this project has been worked on for so long that, even if the actual version is alpha, it should be playable. But I haven't even a clue what this mod is, since there is no clear easily accessible description of the mod anywhere; perhaps you could at least add that somewhere ?

We are constantly adding new features so while the mod is playable, it has virtually no balance.

How do you get an advertising page? We have an outdated manual and semi-up to date Civilopedia (that is if you actually download all the 150MB of stuff).

Alpha 6 is out, grab one.

Many changes and most of them balancing. Unfortunately I could not include the new Russian UHV and other new features. Hopefully this time there will be less bugs and major disbalances and we would be able to include more features.

how do i download it onto my game?

Page 1 of this thread. Filefront. Save to My Documents. Then unzip to Civ4/BTS/Mods. Open to Public Maps and send it to desktop as a shortcut. Make sure you've upgraded BTS to 3.19 first or it won't play. Enjoy.:)

it says the file may already exist

Have you downloaded the zipped file from filefront to My Documents? Have you upgraded BTS to 3.19? If you open the Mods folder you'll see various mods like RFC. If you've already got an earlier version of RFC Europe delete it. Then take the zipped file from My Documents and unzip it ito the Mods folder. That should work.

Double-click on RFCEurope.WorldBuilerSave in folder RFCEurope\Public Maps.

You have to tell it to play that specific scenario and not a regular "play now" game.

Like I said. I always send the Public Maps folder to desktop as a shortcut. That way it's always easy to access.

Bumped up to the top so people can see the link to download the latest version of RFC Europe (Alpha6)
from Post No. 1 of this thread.

There is a big problem with spain, they are overpowered, when i took them, it was too easy to make troops in 1 or two turns, my tech was extraordinary ect...

Wrong thread. This for FILES!

And here it is. Changelog:
Tweaked Burgundy. New settlermap, and now is less powerful than it was (especially at military production)
Tours replaced by Burdigala as independent
Removed the AA in Tangiers
Valencia moved 1N, new land tile at 1S-1SE of its current position
Austria starts with knights
Arabia tweaked, not as powerful and orthodoxy less likely to spread.
Opened a pass in the Alps, where Brenner Pass should be
Moved the olives near Tunis 1N, not to be at the city's location.
Updated city name maps: France, N. Africa, Spain, Hungary
Fixed bug at Cordoban UHV

Instructions:
1) Decompress the file anywhere (at your desktop preferably)
2) Move all the files, except the RFCEurope one, in your RFCEurope/Assets/Python folder, and replace the older ones.
3) Move the RFCEurope file to your RFCEurope/Public Maps folder.
4) Enjoy the game :)
NOTE: You must have RFCEurope Alpha 6 for this one to work. If not, download it, it is on the first post of this thread.

Special thanks to jessiecat, st. lucifer and Michael Vick for getting this out.
From now and until 3Miro returns, sedna17 will lead the development.

Thanks for that, micbic. A couple of questions though.

1. I unzipped the files into the Python folder. Should I have deleted the old Python files first?
2. I've started a new game as Cordoba and the map changes are great. You said you fixed a bug in the Cordoban UHV. Which bug was that?
3. I checked on Arabia in WB. Unfortunately, its still Orthodox. And despite founding Islam in Dimashq, the city they founded, Dumyat, is Orthodox, just like all the rest. The UP should have them establishing Islam in any new city automatically. Something wrong there, I think.

Nevertheless. :)
1) Either that or you should replace them during transferring them.
2) Just extended its west limit 3-4 tiles.
3) Just lessened the probability of Orthodoxy spreading to Arabia. It starts as Orthodox, because the flipping cities are Orthodox as well. And I dont think it should change. (edit: perhaps the problem has to do with the fact that the UP does not apply to flipping cities, and AFAIK it only works with captured ones, not settled)

And discussion about files, of course.

1) So just unzipping them into the Python folder isn't enough then?
2) I see.
3) So even though Islam is founded by them each new city founded becomes Orthodox?
The UP shouldn't allow that IMO.

Werent they automatically replaced? Check your Assets/Python folder, and tell me if there are duplicates of any files.

No. I think its OK. The Conts., RFCE Balance and Victory folders all say "modified 23/8 or 24/8. So I guess that's right. Sorrry to be such a noob.
