Alpha 9 is now available!

Bugfixes and Minor Changes:
Norse UHV for France only includes Brittany/Normandie
Moved 1st Norse UHV back to 1050

:goodjob:

The civilopedia text on the startup screen has only been partially updated to reflect the changes however. The date has been moved to 1050 but the Normandy area is still referred to as "France".

I think it's meant to be this way, the France area just means Brittany and Normandy. Maybe it should be changed to "Northern France" so people wouldn't be confused?

Reporting a bit of a glitch in Alpha9 regarding Civics (see screenshots). I'm sure it's easy to fix but a bit annoying visually at least.

I get that it means the northern coast of France, but the area which was historically settled by the Norse was referred to as Normandy, not Normandy and Brittany. I contend that the UHV area should reflect Normandy, not northern France.

I also report that the Norse UHV condition is still requiring 11 razed cities, as opposed to 10 cities. No worries triggering on the 11th, but at 10 I got nothing. I didn't auto-raze any size 1 cities this time either.

I just forgot to update the Norse UHV description there, it will be changed to "Normandy".

Ugly civics text Batman! I'll see what went wrong there and post a revised version.

With the fixes and changes you made in the last 24 hours, could you rerelease Alpha9, please?:D

You can't handle the fixes and changes I've made in the last 24 hours. It's madness out there I tell you, madness! Also people relying on an SVN client probably want to get r130. Anything later than that is new cutting edge development stuff.

Ah, anyway, a new file is up at our sourceforge site. The second post of this thread also includes just the two text files that were bad/missing for a (much) faster way to update.

So Alpha 9b is the same as all up to revision 133 if I'm right.

No, sorry. I started adding new stuff in revision 131, but didn't get around to fixing the text bugs until revision 133, so Alpha 9b is like nothing directly in the SVN. If you're skilled, you can revert to revision 130 and then just update the /Assets/XML/Text/ folder to revision 133. Or you can just live with a few little text glitches.

Revision 131+ contains some changes to buildings and some modifications to how forests work. It's very much in flux as I'm experimenting with it. It should pretty much work, and you're welcome to play it, but...

I don't care because when I updated my version, I immediatly updated upto revision 133. So I have all new files.

So if I downloaded Alpha9b and added the textfix file I should be OK? Which files am I missing, 131?
or 132 and 133?

@ sedna17

If I'm right the CvCoreGameDLL files aren't neccesary for us. But they are in the Sourceforge version. Could you delete them. It saves a lot of space.

Is any of these compatable with 3.17?

@sedna: You have put a folder in the sourceforge update, named Turkish Branch or something like that. Is it the same if I copy the exact r147 folder, and name the copy like that?

I think so, if you do an "SVN copy". In SVN-speak this is a "branch" which we can then "merge" back into the main development line. Since changing Turkish spawn stuff requires lots of changes that might temporarily break the game, this way I can play with things without disrupting what other people do to the main branch.
