Don't the Babylonian , Arabian, and Turkish Spawn areas overlap in vanilla RFC too? Same with the Aztecs and Mayas and Germans and Dutch.

No, actually they do not. The "Normal Areas" overlap, but the cores do not. Rhye had taken spacial care of that. They border each other, but do not overlap.

Doesn't Sur flip to both the Arabs and the Turks?

No Sur doesn't flip to the Arabs.

But I thought respawn areas are different than core areas? So you could limit Byzantium's respawn to Greece only and problem is solved.

The respawn area usually contains the core (kind of defeats the definition of core area otherwise). Besides you still get the dual hit on stability from holding/losing a city in the opponents core.

It may be OK, but it will have to be carefully tested for both human and AI gameplay.

Well for Byzantium it doesn't matter much due to their UP, and if it does we can counter the negative stability by reducing a little bit of their stability penalty so it would remain the same?

The typical sourceforge problem has returned. I have contributed r174, but it does not get shown on main page :(

I have been playing this mod for a while now, I have completed the UHV for all civs except Sweden on Monarch, and have completed Venice and Bulgaria on Emperor. Not sure if this has been done, but the Venetian win was suitably difficult, and seemed well-balanced on emperor. The Bulgarian win seemed too easy, however, I captured Constantinople very quickly, noticing there were no tagmata there to defend, just 2 archers, which fell pretty easily under the weight of my starting cavalry. Is this intended, or did I just get lucky?

I have never player Emperor, just Monarch. It is possible that the plague was too much and killed the Tagmata. Even one Tagmata would stop pretty much all Konniks and you will need siege weapons and I don't think it is doable on Emperor. Give it a few tries to see if Tagmata is missing most of the time.

possible, yeah, but playing as Byzantium, I never lost the tagmata to plague, guess I assumed that they were immune, I will run it a few more times and let you guys know

According to the manual with the download, the plague kills of the weakest units first.
