RFC Europe: Small bugs/fixes

I didn't understand you very well micbic, what you meant is that "loose" is written but it should be "lose"? If that is the case then it must be corrected indeed.

Of course that's what he means. Just like Magyar shouldn't be written as "madyar".

@3Miro. Can you please fix Poland's UHV bug. (see UHV thread).

As for Hungarian names (I mean that if it's in the original language like Romaii, let's make it clear)
Singular: Magyar
Plural: Magyarok
"Short description": Hungary=Magyarország
I just thought that because it's quite strange that Magyar is in Hungarian and plural form is with -s :)
Anyway, will that be also with the other nations as well? It would be great.

I guess it's english. In german singular is Magyar, plural Magyaren. Using other languages is very limitated because of a bug of the map.

bye Myri

Nationality bug: Cordoba captures Pamplona, last city of independent x, my city Firenze suddenly is 100 % Genoan. Cordoba decends into civil war, my city Firenze suddenly has 91 % independent population. x % independent should stay when an independent civ is destroyed.

bye Myri

Although I agree with what you suggest (it used to be that way in civ 3, where "destroyed" populations stayed for centuries in their cities), it's not a bug. Any nation that is destroyed, looses it's nationality entirely.

Sure it's a bug, nationalities don't vanish because their country is conquered. The eta just bombed spain because the basks didn't vanish. Takes a while to assimilate if you are not Borg :)

No that's not what I meant to say. In Civ 4, whether it's RFCE or even vanilla BtS or the standard game, cultures disappear when the entire nation is conquered. While I don't agree with this, it is how the game works. So, it's not a bug but a feature, althought I'd like to have it changed as well. But the unhappiness penalty for "we want to join our motherland!" should then be much lower as it cannot be erased.

I've just noticed an odd bug while playing Arabia. According to the Civilopedia the Arab UU, the Ghazi cavalry is supposed to replace the Lancer or Armoured Lancer depending on which version you read. It is supposed to be enabled by Farriers and only require the Horse and a stable. But despite having pastures on 2 horse resources and stables, I couldn't build the Ghazi at all. But I could build the Lancer and the Armoured Lancer because I had iron.
Surely this is wrong. The Ghazi is supposed to be Light Cavalry and should replace the Lancer and then only be obsoleted with Gunpowder.
In the screenshots below it describes the Ghazi as light cavalry and but it replaces the Armoured Lancer except in the 2nd. one where it says it replaces the Lancer. Eh?
Can we fix this? Otherwise the Arab UU is utterly useless.

Thanks for fixing the Arabian UU bug. There is a problem though with the map though.

While st. lucifer's changes seem to be in, some earlier changes like micbic's alteration of Iberia have disappeared. The olives near Tunis are back on the spawn tile and the extra tile of land E of Valencia has gone along with the resource changes he made. I've just tried a Cordoba start and while Valencia is in the new location but the map itself is the old version.

If you can tell me what changes Micbic made to Iberia, I can put them back in for the next update (which should be over the weekend, possibly Monday). It's possible that I was working from an older version of the map when I made the last set of changes - the Valencia shift would be an XML thing, while the map is the map. If I'm the one who messed up, I'm sorry about the confusion.

I can'y remember exactly except for these three.

1. A land tile E of Valencia's old spot, a sort of pointed headland in shape, with olives.
2. olives on the tile S of tanjah. (they were on the spawn tile.)
3. olives moved 1 tile N of Tunis.( """.............ditto............""")

Better still. Maybe micbic still has the old file

I still have the old file. (I still didn't downloaded the newest version because of my temperory bad internet-connection I don't want to wait at least 5 hours to have it)

The following bug is too minor IMO, even for that thread, but is still a bug:
While the game is loading, one of the appearing hints/tips/info says that ... ''This Earth map is based on st. Lucifer's projection''. Sorry lads, but it's a Europe map :D

Yea, I missed that one when I was updating the hints to remove the Chinese and Mayan references.

I've had a hard time opening older map files to work from, which is probably how this got messed up in the first place. I can certainly make those changes, and I'll probably be moving some things around Tanjah/Tangier anyway as I redo Morocco. If I remember right, other changes in Micbic's incarnation included switching the swamp/location of Bordeaux/Burdigala, which is in the newer map, and moving Valencia, which is an XML issue and fine.

In any case, I'll make these small changes, and if anyone remembers anything else that needs altering, just add it here or the map thread.

You've got it? We'll need it as the French indies are wrong too. There's an indy Tours and Bordeaux hasn't spawned at all yet in 960AD.

I like it. "St. Lucifer's Projection". It's got a nice ring to it. While he isn't Mercator it's his map, isn't it?
Give him his place in the sun, guys.

Removed the Moroccan AA and opened a pass in the Alps as dense forest (55-38 or 56-38)

BTW I think that the Ghazi-related change is XML, so you can still redownload 6.1, not sure though about it.

One is sure. We must indeed find a better way of exchanging files.

EDIT 3 (wow!): In the choose civs screen, the Burgundian leader shows up as Charles VI; It should be Phillip the Bold.
