RFC Europe: Small bugs/fixes

Removed the Moroccan AA and opened a pass in the Alps as dense forest (55-38 or 56-38)

BTW I think that the Ghazi-related change is XML, so you can still redownload 6.1, not sure though about it.

One is sure. We must indeed find a better way of exchanging files.

EDIT 3 (wow!): In the choose civs screen, the Burgundian leader shows up as Charles VI; It should be Phillip the Bold.

Thanks.

If you've removed the Moroccan AA, I think I'm going to add one in the Canaries or Madeira. I'm also going to add a cow to the area around Basel, possibly in place of the honey, to address eris23's point about the lack of cows in the Alps.

Update should be out Monday.

Just started a game as the Norse, with an unusual minor bug:

Damn, I can't upload the picture.

There's a barbarian wolf on the coast tile in the little hook of Denmark. I'm calling it a Sea Wolf.

You've got it? We'll need it as the French indies are wrong too. There's an indy Tours and Bordeaux hasn't spawned at all yet in 960AD.

Here it is.
(I don't know which of the 2 it was, but I think the 1st.)

I still running alpha 6 and their it says Phillip the Bold.

If you replace the XML with this version, it should be done. (and some text files are included)

The first one is the WB, the second one the full patch.

I'm not sure if this is considered a bug, but it's really something that deserves to be fixed: I havn't played Alpha 7 yet, but has anyone managed to fix the Arabs converting to Orthodxoy on flipping it's cities? I used world builder to place a forest infront of that one Byzantine city that they were frequently making their capital by seizing it before founding their capital, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem.

One thing that might prevent that is having the horse archers at least 2 moves away from any Byzantine city at the start. Then they'll be forced to found Dimashq and Islam first.

That's a creative fix - it's unfortunate that it doesn't work.

One possible solution here would be to have the horse archers show up on turn 2 (or even in waves) as scripted events, much like the workers arriving in the capital or the Seljuks and Mongols appearing.

While I was playing as Spain, I was having trouble defending my seas since a barb Privateer spawned (7 or 8 strength) in the years 1000 or 1100....

About the Madyar thing: what about changing it (I mean the correct Magyar version) to Hungaria? It's quite short, in Hungary we use it for example on football matches (ria-ria-Hungaria). So it's used, and not an adjective, because Magyar is the adjective form in Hungarian, not the short version of the country name. (also it can referr to one Hungarian person as well)

Yeah I said in another thread that Madyar/Magyar doesn't make sense because it means Hungarian. English names are used for other kingdom's short names (except for Venice?) but Hungaria is a great idea, not just because of football matches ;) but apparently that was the name used in the Middle Ages.

On a related subject, are Dynamic civ names going to be implemented?

I hope so. Dynamic civ names, despite not actually effecting much, make the game so much better for me...

Because I'm weird like that >.>

Hey I really enjoy them too! I guess we're all weird :P

Just to get this thread back on topic, ie "Small bugs and Fixes", I have a request. I've just lost yet another really good game as the French because the AI as the damn Polish have won yet another UHV victory in 1602. We have to do something about Poland's UHV goals, for the AI at least. Please, please nerf them in time for Alpha8.

The Polish UHV has already been changed for Alpha 8 (do not lose city to anyone and have most Catholic Faith Points in 1730).

Small Question - you can't seem to gift cities to your vassals, was this the case in basic BTS. I just noticed this playing as the Norse when I conquered Dunkirk from the Burgundians and wanted to give it to my English Vassals* but couldn't.

*Fun tip for French and Norse players - if you raze York and Edinburgh before the English spawn they'll stay really low in score and end up vassalising to someone (and if you give them a nice gift it'll probably be you).

Also in that game I also had Genoa, Portugal and Austria sign up to be vassals of the Grand Norse Empire for no apparent reason, and Germany do it after some Berserker arse-kicking, +20 Stab is pretty nice!

On another note - the Berserker upgrades to the Long Swordsman despite being an all round superior unit, which was annoying when I couldn't build them any more.
