RFC Europe: Small bugs/fixes

Hey 3Miro,

There's a bug in RiseAndFall.py that I don't quite know how to fix.

Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "CvEventInterface", line 23, in onEvent

File "CvRFCEventManager", line 117, in handleEvent

File "CvRFCEventManager", line 128, in _handleDefaultEvent

File "CvRFCEventHandler", line 522, in onBeginGameTurn

File "RiseAndFall", line 857, in checkTurn

File "RiseAndFall", line 1349, in resurrection

File "RiseAndFall", line 1450, in suppressResurection

File "RiseAndFall", line 1497, in resurectCiv

NameError: global name 'iGameTurn' is not defined
ERR: Python function onEvent failed, module CvEventInterface

Essentially, RiseAndFall.resurectCiv doesn't get passed iGameTurn, so it can't pass that variable along to RiseAndFall.setLatestRebellionTurn. In this particular case I could simply pass iGameTurn on through the calling functions, but RiseAndFall.resurectCiv is also called from RiseAndFall.eventApply7622 and I don't quit understand how these events get called, or how to pass in iGameTurn to this method.

I just downloaded RFCE and I'm afraid every time I try and load the mod it shows the "Loading... Chargement Caricamento" screen but then crashes before even showing the loading bar screen. I'm running Windows 7. Is my operating system the reason? I've tried loading the game three times, and I have no issue running RFC.

Have you updated BTS to 3.19?

I just built Copernicus Observatory but it doesn't give me free specialists. Is there a way to fix that?

Edit: My mistake, it worked as intended.

after updating to bts 3.19 i was able to start the game. As austrians I wanted to play. I was able to settle vienna and move my units in the fist turn (negotiate with hungary)....and when I pressed end of turn the game crashed!!!
anybody with the same problem???

PS: Version is alpha9c

Can you give a Savegame?

Seems like the venetians are the problem but i am not sure. It seems the game crashes once I speak with them or once its there turn.
The game crashes as well in the menu when I select them.
I know this was a common problem but I thought it was fixed in Version alpha9c so I dont know...

Also: hungarian leader has only mouth and eyes no face....

here is the safegame file: first turn austria...just click on venetia to negotiate and it will crash, or wait till end of turn...

Hope someone can help!

Both those symptoms very much sound like you have some art files incorrectly installed or missing. Your save doesn't crash for me. Perhaps you can completely delete and re-download the mod?

Some time ago a number of people noted that Crusaders do not attack Jerusalem. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I remember some of the AI modifications that I made included lowering the value of cities outside the war map. This was done to prevent strange occurrences of say France owning a random ex-barb city in Russia and causing strange conflicts.

Basically if the Crusaders do not attack Jerusalem, then we should include Jerusalem in all the war maps. Also, we should include Constantinople in the Venetian one to account for the possible 4-th Crusade.

PS Jerusalem is added to the C++ code anyway, I can simply make it so that an exception is made in its place.

That is no problem anymore; IIRC sedna included the Levant to all Catholics war maps.

Yes, the crusaders end up taking Jerusalem frequently now. They often end up collapsing the Arabs. The only "bad" side effect is that the Catholic civs are often at war with Arabia all the time -- and this is pretty much okay.

Forum is guilt-tripping me into replying ..
"Hello Veshta, it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks. Why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution, or participate in a discussion in any one of our forums?" .. nagging wench! :)

And on to the topic at hand:
I am getting massive graphical corruption with Alpha10, usually after closing a window but also from merely scrolling map.
Looks like textures are elongated every which way to the point where they block the screen completely.
Corruption is removed by save/load but returns immediately after.

Has seen it as vertical lines in previous versions, but it has always been temporary.

Q: Deleted RFCEurope folder before unzipping new content. Are there more files that needs to be purged? Is there a conflict I am missing?

Edit: Disregard. Seems my graphics card was choking on dust and other nasties, artefacts have disappeared after cleaning .. had no idea the Civ4 engine was so resource intensive :)

PS: Love the new resource starved Europe, Civics and Shrine of Uppsala tweak .. unfortunately reading Civilopedia is all I can do at present, still better than 99% of games on market so I am happy

I tried Genoa yesterday and noticed that I got some Civics in the beginning wich i didn't had the techs for. Thats ok, but after I reloaded today all those specific "don't have techs for" civics where set back to the first one. I guess thats not supposed to be.

As French, I led all Crusades, and in 3rd and 4th times Genoa made it turn to against Byzantine, but I didn't receive any army after automatically DoWed to them.

I think the ones who buy the crusade are supposed to get the army, why would anyone buy it if they wouldn't get the army?

Faith points reset to zero after the Reformation, even for civs that stay Catholic. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature.

I've noticed this several times, with the current test version and the one before:

Playing as the Ottomans, mounted units' icons mess up. Knights get the armored lancer icon, armored lancers get the hussar... the graphics and the units are correct, not the icons.

It's very strange.
