But technically, it's wrong. He still brought the sword, which is still 111 cm, which is still too long. It doesn't make a difference that it is in a box; even if the people who check the things brought aboard didn't notice it, he's still breaking the rule. But oh well, I guess riddles can "cheat" like that.
