It was great hearing him announce the different techs in Civ4. He had a uniquely authoritative voice. He did indeed live long and prosper.

Indeed. Nimoy and Shatner are the only two American TV stars that have had a real influence in my life and will genuinely feel a sense of loss when they're gone. Back in the late 60's and early 70's, Wednesday evenings watching Star Trek on BBC 1 was one of the highlights of my week as a boy and a young teenager. Nothing else ever came close to the excitement of watching Star Trek and it would have been nothing without either Kirk or Spock. True TV heroes.

I felt kind of sad. I didnt know he was a voice narrator from civilization 4 until now. I recognized his pictures from star trek though, i used to see that show air when i was a little kid. Other cartoons like xmen and megaman were also airing in tv around that time.
