[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

Twenty-two days.

Yes. And that could actually be another song to use men vocals :crazyeye:
I really hope Scotland could use it as well along with those bagpipes.

I don't quite understand this. All Civ6 victories are solid and have their place in the game. Adding some other victories for sake of adding would lead to monstrousities like Civ5 diplo victory. I wouldn't want a new victory type, unless it has clear gameplay spot.
I'm personally hoping for a economic victory in conjunction with a new trade mechanics and corporations or something along those lines. I certainly wouldn't want something even as straightforward as the civ 5 diplo victory as an economic victory.

I'm thinking it's a possibility, especially if the R&F line-up holds and we don't get a unique commercial district.

The GG would have to be from the same era as Genghis. It can't be Shaka. It could be a Scottish leader like William Wallace, but I think the new GG is Inca. Having Pachacuti as a GG would be a pretty big giveaway towards their exclusion.

Or maybe it's just Ed being Ed, who knows.

Yeah this could just be his brain thinking "Wait am I allowed to reveal that under our current NDA/publicity plan, I don't know, better check with marketing."

I wouldn't have said that male voice choirs were particularly associated with Scotland (as they are with Wales), but there is much more to Scottish folk music than bagpipes. I am hoping for fiddle and tin whistle, which are far more evocative of Scottish folk music than the rather less versatile bagpipes.

I’ll be fine with Circle of Life. But that’s the lowest bar I'll accept!:mischief:
I'd actually take it, not the Elton John part though. That's immersion breaking.

How about "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" or "Can You Feel the Love Tonight"? :mischief:

Just in: Deep dive with Georgia tomorrow feat. Emergencies

Here's hoping it dives a little deeper than our last deep dive. :p

So much so this. Bagpipes are fine, but they're not the end-all be-all of Scottish music.

I wouldn't necessarily like just bagpipes either. I'm hoping for something like this:

This thread is now equal with the DLC 05 Anticipation thread for longest threads.

On topic: I want Sarah as host, don't care about the other one. Sarah just makes it all so relaxed.

Moderator Action: As previously stated, posts about thread post count are spam and will be deleted (several have been deleted this morning). This post is saved from deletion by the on-topic portion, but please refrain from posting about post count. Thanks -- Browd

Some Shaka love as he Zerg-rushes your capital on turn 50. Seems fitting.

"I Just Can't Wait to Be King" can burn, though.

On topic: if we are still in doubt about Shaka’s inclusion with the civ, then which other so far theorized civ could be a contender for the remaining Unique District? Ikandha seems to fit too well.

I was going to suggest Julie Fowlis as well.

Great! It's going to be about the feature I'm most interested in, and it's going to have perfect Georgian music :D

Are you really sure that we will be able to have a deep dive in the Emergencies in one livestream?
First, how could it be possible to see different emergencies unless they show several games (which I highly doubts).
And we won't be able to see emergencies from the two point of view (triggered or triggering).
As I saw it, an Emergencies has a beginning, a middle and an end.
We can't see the beginning and the end in the same livestream, because it would be too long.
And I'm a little concerned that we will be able to really see how AI behave during an emergency during the short time of a livstream.
SO, either we will be disappointed because they won't show a lot, or we will take a great look in the Civilopedia in order to see what kind of emergencies exists, how are they triggered and what kind of bonuses we can have (but I also doubt that emergencies info will be in the Civilopedia).

I don't know for you, but I feel that this is the week of disappointment.
First, no FL and, to replace it, a Full Details which little details (just one tny face to speculate... meh).
Second, deduction of Zulu, Scotland and Mapuches. Without Inca, Italy, Mali or Ottomans. Well, I must say it's really not the end of revelation I was waiting for (I'm still hoping that this reveals are wrong). Don't take me wrong : Mapuches can be amazing (even I would have preferred the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia, but, it's not quite exactly a real country, so...), and Scotland is really a wonderful possibility. But... Mapuche over Incas, when we have not yet our mountain-lover road-builder knot-reader gold-digger civ? Incas are not only a staple or a niche civ: they have really a unique possible gameplay that cannot be taken by any other civ (unlike Georgia which can be, in terms of GP, close to Poland). And for Scotland, well, they are truly great, but it's another medieval-warmongering-loyal-kindofreligious civ. I don't know which abilities they will gave us, but I'm sure that it could be for another civilization as well. And Scotland with England on the same game when Italy or Ottomans or Finland or Portugal are absent is really annoying, I think (who on Earth think placing Scotland before Italy is a naturel thing? Who?).
And for the Zulus, well... It's what really put the nail to the coffin.

Yeah... 22 days...
