Bug was of course from a dead link, so I bypassed it to whatever .wav was around and it went :thumbsup:

For the record, it did the same thing over with "Art\Units\Galleass\..\Frigate\FrigateFidget.wav" (notice the slashes), where the same fix applied.

Thanks a lot, the .ini never even crossed my mind.

i'm new here.
being an old player of civ3 i get annoyed about the original game, so i searched for mods and i arrived here.
i'm trying this mod because this is simply an expansion of the original one (or maybe i'm wrong), but i got this error when i try to run the mod



i have the conquest expansion in italian, i've installed the 1.22 international patch, RAR_1.02_Full.exe, then RAR_ExtrasPatch_v1.exe.

It doesn't really matter in which language your C3C is (it may result in some odd mixes, but no crashes).
But, your vanilla Civ3 needs to be an English language version :(. There is a tool for the French and German localization on CFC, and I know a Spanish one is to be found on a Spanish Civ site - but I'm lost about the Italian one (if you happen to have it). Sorry.

OTOH, the WarriorRun.amb is one of those odd files that is missing from some installations; so, if it's only that one file - just rename and copy a different .amb into the Warrior folder. Doubt it, though.
 
yes i heard about the problems for the mod, and i heard about the tool too.
I'm quite sure there is it also for the italian versions.

BTW, this problem is common for all mods?

You cant find a tool to play this if not english version.

But :goodjob: You can play it if you work some 30 minutes to translate all your files. You will have to translate the name of the folder and the name of the INI inside; I did it while running a french version and had fun with those amazing mods:

another thing: are there graphic mods playable with RaR? I mean a re-design of the map; i've searched for the first 10 topic's pages but i find nothing
 
A question - is there a reason why citizens eat up 3 food instead of 2? Doesn't this just dramatically slow the game down at the beginning?

That, I believe, was the point....along with having the "cheaper" settler actually take more pop. Prevents the AI from colonizing half a continent by the start of the middle ages.


Another thing I've noticed - I am playing a game with Tibet, the Celts and Sioux (well the sioux are now stuck on a snowball island, but anyways...) Are the Tibetans coded to limit their infra building to make them "backward" just like they were prior to the Chinese invasion? I have an MPP with them mainly because I don't want to Celts to get any bigger after they conquered the Siamese and Sioux. I also have a RoP with Tibet, and move my new cycle unit through their land.....and pretty much except for roads connecting cities and a few mines, the land is barren and there are NO workers to be found! :confused: They are still in Medieval times- I GAVE them matchlock and flintlock just so they wouldn't appear so "juicy" to the Celts!

I don't think so. Two games ago they nuked me so it's possible for them to advance just fine. ;)

I have compiled over 300 mb of first class graphics from various unit creators and roughly organized them to serve as flavour units, the problem is that it's too tedious for me to put them in the game without messing the rules or the game balance (Unique Units,etc).

May be Kal-El (if he is in charge of graphics) or anyone will find this useful and I could try to upload the file. I lost track of all the creators names but the units are from here or cdg mainly from Bebro,Wyrmshadow,Aaglo,Ripptide,Kinboat and others.
Please post a list here, I will take a look at it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to keep up with all the new units being made. :(

You can use all the modded terrain features that you use for regular civ for RaR.
However, RaR uses it`s own folder for irrigation, so you will have to replace the files there (conquets/scenarios/RaR/art/terrain).
For all other terrains, the default civ or conquest art/terrain folders are used.

yes it's not only a RaR-problem.

In my sig you find the german version of my tool. It copies all unit-folders and renames them. So you can play german and english mods.

Feel free to make an italian version of the tool. ;)

Can anyone help me with the Ship_of_the_line bug?
What's the solution? Don't build Heavy Frigates? I have two directories for them, one with underscores and one without. That worked for two turns.
I'd hate to toss the current game after many hours.
 
I'm doing a PbEM on v1.04 (beta) and was wondering about settling on desert. At the moment I have lots of hard clans, but they don't seem to be able to build a city there. Is there some other settler that I ought to be using?
 
No, deserts cannot be settled at all in RaR.
Same goes for tundras, unless there is a forrest.

Even if you dont build them, AI will do, then the game will crash also.

It goes to
C:\Program Files\Infogrames\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios\RAR\Art\Units\Ship_of_the_LIne


Here is the INI. file. It seems you forgot to rename also the INI.Replace the INI. file with mine, it should work, sometime some crazy typo mistakes are in the INI. and the game crashes.

If still error, take a screenshot and post here, sometimes the game crashes because a lame space after or before a point in the INI.

The RAR ship of the line is "ship_of_the_line." The Heavy Frigate is "ship of the line." You have to copy the latter folder from the Napoleon scenario files into the RAR units folder.
