Rise and Rule for Civ3:Conquests

Rise and Rule v100b11 Full.exe

A faster, more reliable, multi source, RESUMABLE way to get it. P2P isn't just for sharing pirated stuff (especially EDonkey) although there's plenty of that too. Its a superior alternative for hopeless sites that work like FilePlanet.

OH yeah if you already went through fileplanet or that other site please share your copy. The more sources there are the faster people get it

And rename the file and spell out the mod's name (Rise and Rule). It is difficult to do a search for this mod in Emule becuase searching for 'rar' matches every .rar (archive format) file.

Apparently the donkey server's havn't indexed my spelled out file name. You must search for 'rar full', and set the Extension field to 'exe'' . There were 3 complete sources when I searched the file. I am one of them (Low ID T1 connection)

I downloaded and installed into my Conquests/Scenarios/RAR folder however the .biq file does appear in the folder when trying to open it in the game. I am running the patched version of Conquests. It's as if the game does not recognize the file..any ideas anyone?

The Biq is supposed to be in conquests/scenarios, not in the RAR folder itself. The folder is supposed to be next to it in the scenarios folder. Does this help?

This is a known bug. If you have PTW installed, it shouldn't be an issue. If you don't, go here and dlownload the WW2 extras pack.

I did as you said but the website is unclear as to where the files should be extracted. It said the root of the PTW folder but that didn't do anything. I tried placing them into the Art\Units\ folders of PTW but the files had same names and wanted to overwrite the old ones. So where do I put them?

This is a great mod and i am now constantly playing it. there is only one problem, is there any way to fix the preferences on the main menu. the actions don't correspond with what the box says.

Either overwrite the empty folders with the same names, or stick them in the RAR units folder. Doesn't really matter.

^^ What he said. ;)

You might have to tweak the pediaicons.txt file to let Civ know where the new files are.

Well, before I read the replies I pasted the units into the units folder in PTW. Game plays now but when I tried to build laborers in one round, it built Iron Frigates instead... and on land at that! Is this a normal bug?

Probably a result of the weirdness of your scenario...

turner, I couldn't read the thing in you sig and I'm using modern cfc

That's weird, nwo... It sounds like something in the scenario got messed up by moving those files over. You didn't replace any files did you? Or did you edit something?

Hygro - I never said you could read it if you were using a different style. ;)

nah, figured out it's just a result of the Powerbar trainer

The athletics tech doesn't seem to do anything, what does it do? Also, for some reason, my workers love to visit other countries and cause them to constantly call me up asking me to get them the hell out of there. its kinda annoying. Its my fault for automating them, but i don't remember that happening in norm c3c.

I'm pretty sure that's not related to the mod. Automating workers is a tricky thing. They often do things that don't make much sense. To us, at least.

Yeah, I have done that and renamed the file Rise and Rule.biq as GreatInca suggested. It still doesn't show up in the scenarios folder. :twitch: :dubious:

Looking at the screenshot I see every mountain tile contain gold...your installation seems to get screwed up really bad.Best is to uninstall complete, including all RAR files.
Then, after installing Civ3 and Conquests (and of course the last Patch 1.22) again, place the ptw unit pack in the .../Civ/Civ3PTW/extras/World War II folder (in case you load down other extras, there are four more folders in the extra section: Winter Terrain, Prehistoric, European Terrain, Medieval Japan). If there is no extra folder in civ3/civ3ptw create it and make sure the units and other stuff are in the correct subfolders. Then install RAR again, to Civ3/Conquests/Scenarios.I think this should work, post if you have problems.Sorry for asking to un/reinstall but I think it is the only way to get things right.

What do you mean by "does not appear in the folder"? It may sound like a silly question, but what do you exactly do when you want to play RAR? The way I start it is the following -without moving around or renaming a biq.- start conquests, then choosing the point "civ-content" in the main menu of conquests and selecting the RAR biq.

A golden rule for avoiding frustration and playing better: don't automate workers...might sound like much additional and stupid work, but once you have completly understand what micromanaging terrain improvement can do you good, you won't give it up again.
I agree on athletics and RAR is a mod which avoids such empty techs; a solution will be find.

Sounds really good as a great wonder :goodjob: Only unsure about the effects...happiness, culture, special improvement,...?

Slows city production a lot (-75% production bonus) and costs 20gpt to simulate the massive budget deficit it causes. But does make 5 happy faces and 5 culture.

 :crazyeye: OMG, I feel so stupid! :shakehead :wallbash: :spank:

Obviously, I haven't loaded a scenario in a long time. It's working now and is a dandy. I was creating on like this last year, but haven't touched it in a while. I am now inspired, but I will play this one first.

Thanks for your help :D
